Patpong in Bangkok is a happening destination. Beware of the ladyboys though (unless you're into that sort of thing). I saw quite a few drunk gents heading out with ladyboys - hopefully they weren't surprised later that night.

Of the Soapies, Annies is just off Sukhumvit near Nana Station.
The famous Eden Club is at, I believe, 7 1 Sukhumvit, a small ally with a number of bars and parlors. Eden requires you to take a minimum of two ladies at a time, but no maximum (I understand one fellow requested 22, but bluntly I have no idea what he did with them). It is under new management, so I have no idea of whether it is better or worse, but it is certainly worth checking out.
There are always the bars on Soi Cowboy, mostly places to meet bar girls, but a couple good drinking place with live music.
Treat the ladies well, providing is a respected occupation in Thailand, many are supporting family. If they feel you are treating them decently, you will have a wonderful time. And don't be cheap in compensation, it is small change to Westerners.
Of the non-hobbying experiences, after you have done the Wats (and don't miss them) and the Palace complex, go to see the kick-boxing at Lumpini Stadium, the entire experience is a scene you should not miss, and enjoy the night market next door.
Great food everywhere, the restaurant in the Shereton Grande is very good, but don't miss the local restaurants (there is on just on the corner of Sukhumit and Soi 7 which is great, and cheap). And go to Chinatown, great food and experiences. Be adventurous.

Patpong is FAMOUS as the original sex area of bankok, with sex shows and pussy ping pong shows. It is just off of the monorail BTS transit system at Sala deng? I think, but everyone says that it is just a RIPP OFF place now with thug enforcers if you object to the bill, which keeps pilling up for every "show " that you sit through. There is shopping in the street though also that also attracts normal tourists who are curious to see the sleeze factor. Most Mongers don't reccomend Patpong now.
Go to Nana Plaza on soi Nana just 5 minutes walk from your hotel, or you can also take the BTS 1 stop for about 25 baht (70cents). Nana plaza has 3 floors of bars, and some very hot ladies. (Nana ground floor can be a bit more expensive ) Topless gogo dancers on the the second and third floors. Angelwitch gogo bar has gogo dancers and some erotic shows.. And LOTS OF LADYBOY BARS also on the second floor i.e. Casanove -so beware.
The Ladyboys of thailand can be so hot looking it is scary...!!!!!
