I think you make the transition over from Newbie to Veteran Hobbyist when you know how to handle yourself before during and after a session.

Hardy's RULES to becoming a Pro:

1. You make initial contact with a provider as SHE wishes and requests (i.e. by E-mail, text, phone, etc.)

2. You are able to communicate to her exactly when and where you wish to see. Have a specific agenda in mind, prior to contacting her. Your sole purpose of the initial contact is to set up the appointment. Period, nothing more, nothing less. NEVER ask any inappropriate or idle questions (obviously nothing of a sexual overtone but also do not ask her what her rates are or her physical stats if all this information is clearly defined on her web site). Remember, this is your first impression; do not do anything that would jeopardize even getting an appointment.

3. You show up ON TIME for your session. Do not show up a 1/2 hour early and linger outside her door or building. You want to do nothing that will draw attention to your presence.

4. You walk into her apartment or room with an air of confidence and professionalism (i.e. greet her with a nice hug) and make the lady feel comfortable and safe with your presence. This is extremely important as the safety of the provider is paramount. Remember, the provider is 1000 times more nervous about meeting a new client, than the hobbyist is about seeing a provider. You want the lady to relax as much as possible.

5. You place the appropriate donation (which you have already counted out and put in an unsealed envelope) immediately in plain view on a desk or table (or if she prefers on the bathroom counter). Do NOT start counting money in front of the lady. Second, never talk about the donation, ever. And please NEVER make the provider have to ask you for the donation. It places both parties in an unnecessary and awkward position.

6. You are appropriately dressed for the session at hand and have thouroughly washed before hand. If you feel you need to freshen up, then by all means please do so.

7. You begin your session with some small talk, again, to make the provider at ease to spend time with you. You want her to be glad you are there.

8. You move things along at a pace you are BOTH comfortable with. If you are nervous and do not know when to proceed to the main event, follow the lead of the provider. She will make sure things move along per your appointment.

9. During the session, and this is paramount, you NEVER NEVER make the provider feel nervous, unsafe or cause her any physical harm. If she tells you to stop doing something (i.e. you are slapping her ass too hard, or biting her nipples too hard) then STOP. PERIOD. Just enjoy the sex.

10. After the session is done, RESPECT THE PROVIDER'S TIME. Do not linger about and expect that the lady is there to entertain to you for the rest of the day. Her time is valuable and have the sense to recognize it. If you have paid for an hour, you should be out of there as close to the hour as possible.

11. With a nice hug and if she is okay with it a kiss, thank the lady for her time and leave with the same confidence and professionalism that you came in with.

12. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT: If you want to send the lady a thank you E-mail, then feel free to go ahead. But do this ONLY ONE TIME.  DO NOT continuously call her, text her, E-mail her, write to her etc.,  to just shoot the proverbial  breeze. The fact you had a session with her at this point means nothing to either one of you. You are just a past client with absolutely no connection. She is not there at this point to make small talk with you. The ladies time is valuable and you should not waste it. The next time you should contact her is when you are ready to set up another appointment.

Becoming a seasoned hobbyist has nothing to do with number of reviews you write. My belief is that when you can follow the above steps every time, then I would consider you to be a seasoned hobbyist. This may take you 2 sessions to master or it may take 200 sessions. There are no rules.

So, just out of curiosity, when has a newbie graduated past newbie status?  I still consider myself a newbie, considering I've only been doing this since the summer of 2010 and have seen a single digit number of providers, and still have a lot to learn.  I think I'll always be a newbie, in a way, because it seems like there's always things I can learn and do better to keep my hobbying as safe and pain-free as possible.

each of us has to decide if we are still newbies or not.  I have been hobbying for 6+ years, and I still am learning stuff.  A rule of thumb might be when you have enough reviews (10) to join the reviewers' only board.  However, it's not a hard fast rule, I just sort of threw it out there.  If you don't have VIP membership, you should get it, it's invaluable for researching providers.  Research is the hobbyist's key for safe hobbying.

Swim

I guess that with 13 reviews over almost three years im no longer a newbie and i qualify for that board.
See you there:)

Put it this way: you are not in preschool or kindergarten anymore, but maybe you are in middle school:)
I think like swim said you have to decide for yourself. Maybe 10? Who knows? Once you have seen one, you are not brand new, but everyone still has things to learn. In all areas of life, we should always be learning. I only have a tiny amount of reviews but I have been doing this in one form or another for 30 years, but I still learn stuff all the time from Providers, from other hobbyists, and from reading the boards and reviews.

When I repeat with a Fav lady...  we have meshed into each other's system...  not a newbie there.  When I see someone new, new location, new methods of entry & egress...   I continue to observe & gain insights.  5 years in...

My first attempts were pretty greenhorn, a lot of mistakes...  I was lucky...  NOTE:  Luck is not a plan!
After I found TER, I read up, thought I was well prepared.
The more I've read here, benifited from other's ideas...  I've stepped up my game.   As long as I don't forget or get sloppy, I have the obivious things covered...   there are always tweeks.

I throw one out there for other Newbies:
I prefer to park nearer a hotels wing exits.  Yes, usually key card entrance only.  I walk to the main entrance to go IN.
When it comes time to leave, I go down the stairs & leave through the wing exit (I'm going out, not in, door locks behind me).  Avoids the lobby...     If I need to change wings, I take the elevator down a floor & cross over.  Even with a cane, it's easy to go DOWN the stairs.

good concept..but i am the total opposite..always valet park..talk with the guys..act like you belong there..walk in like you own the place..say hello to the front desk people and the concierge..go to the bar..have a drink..no one will look at you sideways..you might even get a break on the parking when you leave..confidence beats trepidation every time..

Much less conspicuous if you act like you belong. I haven't gone quite as far as talking  with the hotel staff though. LOL

If you no longer need to ask questions that are answered in the newbie self-help link, know how to make a determination on who's worth seeing from reading reviews, are able to post useful advice on boards other than this one, and are able to secure an invite to an M&G, then you are no longer a newbie.  The number of total meetings nor reviews you've posted is not relevant.

This doesn't mean that even if you consider yourself an experienced, veteran hobbyist, there won't be new experiences that you might learn lessons from, nor will you be immune to making mistakes or being caught up in unfortunate happenstances that you didn't see coming.

Good luck hobbying, dude.

Gentlemen

Every provider is different. Never go into a session thinking that what was ok with

last session is ok in this session. Respect her whatever rules she has and you'll be fine

and you can emerge from a ROB encounter with your cash firmly in hand!
