Hello! I am new to TER and I am confused on how to post my picture on the website. It says picture URL but I cannot find anything on the site explaining this.

There are others I just don't know what they are. When you've placed your photos on such a site they will have a url. You copy and paste that url into the picture url box (remove the http:// that is already there). When you click post message your photo will show up in your post.

Remember you can only post pictures of you in your ad on your TER Regional Ad Board and on the Photo Only Board.

I also recommend you read the post by Board Admin at the top of the page. That will explain a lot of how TER works.

Welcome

Your picture files have to stored on a website or server that is accessible to (can be viewed by) the public without a password. When I open a TER post with a picture, TER sends the request for the linked pic to that server and it's delivered to my computer for display.  TER is just the middle man.

You create an account on a (provider friendly) image hosting site and upload your pictures there. When you want to post a pic on TER, copy the URL (e.g., www.hostingsite.com/members/noemi/mypictures/picture01.png)

I notice that your personal website pics are on a squarespace server and I think that should work, for now.
I am going to paste this URL (copied from your personal website ad):

https://static1.squarespace.com/static/583dc7bdd482e9bbbe0755c6/585aa06720099e1ebb20a2dc/586be29dd2b857738585c7a3/1483465383016/fullsizeoutput_35.jpeg?format=1000w

but TER will note an error because it doesn't end with .png, .jpg, .jpeg, .bmp or .gif. So, I will delete the
"?format=1000w" to get this URL:

https://static1.squarespace.com/static/583dc7bdd482e9bbbe0755c6/585aa06720099e1ebb20a2dc/586be29dd2b857738585c7a3/1483465383016/fullsizeoutput_35.jpeg

and paste it into the "picture URL" box making sure that there is only one "http://" or "https://".

NOTE: YOU can only post your pics to the Ad Boards and to the Photo Only Board. I am trying to post a helpful example. Nevertheless, TER might ask me to remove or replace the pic with a different, non-Noemi example.

Just to add - from the image hosting page, right clicking on the image you want to post to TER should get your a sub-menu where you can choose copy image URL which should be the direct link to the image and nothing else on the hosting site.

As suggested paste that copied URL into the Picture URL, and make sure you don't have the "http://" in the link twice. Also make sure your image URL isn't using a secure URL and shows as "https://". If so, delete the "s". For some reason the the secure URL doesn't seem to work in the input box and will not produce the actual link and I'm guessing not display any image you were planning on displaying. (At least this was the case a few months back -- I'm sure that will be corrected if wrong)
