Probably a good time to talk about STD testing again.

Where are providers and clients going to get full screening and what is turn around time.

What are the most valid variants of the tests and what services do folks seem to prefer in the DMV (NOVA - DC - MD) areas?

or to inform your primary care dr that you want to get tested...

just google the closest lgbt clinic. they are often the most non judgemental place that you will find.
you can also pick up a home test from walgreens, etc.
or a discreet package in the mail from amazon.

please know that home tests are only meant for people that arent experiencing any symptoms and also for those that dont have any questions they would like to discuss with a medical professional.

:)

My Girl friend Works in the windows in Amsterdam and she has to test every 3 months no matter where she is, and to show she is clean in order to get a permit to work there. And in my opinion taking care of your self regarding your health is a good habit to have. Make us all safe. 😘

Providers should get checked every month.  Hobbyists every 3 months.

Took about 3 days to get results. 220 out of pocket but was only 65 with my insurance.

How good are the home ones?

I would have to imagine the lab ones are more precise.

home tests? like the ones on the internet?  the internet tests are very easy, quick and accurate. they send you to a local lab (which I have always found to be quite reputable).  it cost about 250 & you get results in 2-5 days

Fairfax County has free testing at multiple locations. You'll need to check on the County website for dates/times.  They vary location-by-location.  Takes about a week.

My last visit was about 4 weeks ago.

I ask for a full work up; they do a visual exam and take a few vials of blood, urine, and vaginal swab samples from me. It's important you do all 3, especially as a lady, because many STIs won't show up in a blood or urine sample (like trichomoniasis- which can be spread by men, who are often asymptomatic)

Turn around time for tests is usually about 3-4 days; by physician rushes them so that they are back sooner fromnthe laboratory.

I go to my ob/gyn, who knows I am a provider and always makes sure that my tests are back as soon as possible so I can work again. He is also in network for my insurance.

Physical exam of my tender bits (and vaginal swab), throat swab, blood and urine for full screening.
My PCP is also an OB/GYN and he's super thorough.
While he doesn't know i'm a pro he does know i'm a big ol' whore and is cool about it.

Here is a good link.  Safety first.  I applaud the discussion.  I have never had anything and hopefully never will.  That said, there are effective treatments for most STDs nowadays.

Highly recommended. You can walk from Dupont Circle to this place. When you are waiting for results you can hear some of the machines running in anticipation of the results.  Funny to see all those folks with anxious looks on their faces. One the doctors told me "What you have done, you have so many people scared".

I use the online ordering service where you go to a local lab to provide urine or blood. Professionals at the lab and seemingly quick results. Always clean (knock on wood)

Curious though, has anybody known someone that can definitively say they have caught something from bbbj? Certainly is possible I know but the "literature" seems all over the place on incidence rates from oral sex.
