Still Worst Drivers

Driving is pleasurable. You can get in and out...and around 495 easy. Used to have to consistently time things up with traffic.

more schedule freedom, less stress, less planning. Driving 15-20 miles could be up to a 90min drive during rush hour....now it's like 30mins, lol.

Metro takes about an hour anytime of the day for my typical travel distance. Not to mention being packed like sardines during rush hour...and off peak times someone always asking for money going train car to to train car.

Yeah, the trip to Tysons has been awesome of late. The only problem is I'm showing up 30 minutes ahead of the appointment! Twiddling my thumbs a lot because old habits die hard. Definitely less stressful texting not texting all the time, "Stuck in traffic, will be late".  I usually take the Hot Lanes just to avoid the problem of traffic. While COVID has been horrible, I dread the return to normal DC traffic. Even with the addition of a few more drivers, the asshole drivers are still out there and show up even now.

Maybe back in the spring but not now. Traffic may only be up to 80% of what it used to be but that is still plenty enough. There is plenty of morning and afternoon rush hour to contend with. Add a little rain and I guarantee a tractor will jack-knife at the big curve. In the beginning the problem with no traffic was the people who were driving were going 80-90 MPH.

Traffic is returning to normal volumes again. But its hit and miss. Im either showing up way too early, or getting there by the skin of my teeth....
Lighter volume is nice, but impossible to predict lately.

Agreed on traffic being better but, like DrumGuy, been noticing it creep back to normal. I’m still getting to work in half the time I did pre-Covid, but it’s often partly bumper-to-bumper leaving work.

Yeah, the traffic has been lower, especially earlier on during the lockdown. From Baltimore to Fairfax, it used to take me 1.5 hours in regular traffic, but now it's around an hour, hour and 10 minutes at most.

That being said, DMV still has some of the worst drivers I've ever encountered, and I thought the place where I'm originally from had horrible drivers. LEFT LANE IS FOR PASSING and GET OFF YOUR CELL PHONES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ha! Even the damn cops are on their phones!
NoVa does have some of the worst drivers, but the upper side of the beltway is worse. I guess im saying Maryland drivers are worse! Lol
In honesty, ive been making fewer appointments with ladies simply because of contending with the traffic in the area. I wait until the lady is a " must see ", before finally biting the bullet and making the trip.
There have been a few, one woman that I was particularly fond of warranted a daily visit from me....for 2 months straight!
Another whom I would make the journey at least one to 2 times a week for...
Ive not met anyone that i clicked with like that in quite awhile, so ive been less than motivated to do the 4 hour commute ( round trip ) for appointments.
