Moved to DMV only recently. I've been a hobbyst for a few years and I really enjoy it. I'm not single and I love the ability to cut the crap and fast forward to that magical moment at the end of the third date when it's fucktime...with no strings attached afterwards.
Having said this, I sometimes wonder if there's a middle ground. A pub or a club in the DMV where one can hang out casually, but where girls are open to the flirting and open to the option of being rewarded for service if the chemistry happens to be there for both. Students maybe?

Sounds to me almost like your asking about a "Sugar Baby" type arrangement. Not a classic example maybe, but along those lines.
If you're interested in pursuing that aspect of things and want to try it out to see if it will "fly", go to one of those "sugar" sites, sign up, contact a girl or three, make a date and see what happens.
That scenario is not for me, but I do know others who have gone that route with mixed success. Just for the record, I am NOT against such arrangements, I just don't see the allure myself.

And how much time you're willing to invest. Couple years ago I put a profile up on a few free dating sites saying I was just looking for sex. It took a lot of work, but I did have fun with a few college girls and no money changed hands. The hookup apps do work if you're willing to accept that you're going to waste a lot of time. Caveat is that you also need to be somewhat attractive. To be honest, I had more luck with the free dating sites than the sugar baby sites.
