TV vs TS

Can anyone, in layman's terms, explain the difference between a TV and a TS?

TS - Lives full-time as a woman.  May have had one or more cosmetic surgeries to enhance her feminine look.  Can be pre-op or post-op depending on whether she has had sexual reassignment surgery (SRS).

TV - Probably has a naturally feminine build or appearance, but does not live full time as a woman.  Has had minimal cosmetic surgery.  Probably does not have breast implants.

thanks for the info, do one or both take hormones? are hornones any type of issue? Mood swings?

I think that TS are more likely to take hormones, but not all do.  They can make it more difficult or impossible to achieve an erection and/or contribute to mood swings.

Transvestite is a word that is commonly confused with transgender and transsexual. A TV aka CD is a man who likes to crossdress in womans clothing. Usually done in private, though some more fem TV's try to pass themselves as TS in the escort scene.  They live as men.. Some may have fem characteristics, but for the most part they are very much male when not in drag.

Transsexuals are people who intend to live as a gender other than that assigned to them at birth, based on the appearance of their sex organs at birth. Many transsexuals alter their primary or secondary sex characteristics with hormone treatments, surgery, or both. However, these alterations need not be a part of the transsexual lifestyle.

Pretty good job of explaining cuddlemeister.  The hormones are not only not needed but damaging to the functionality and overall health of the TS.  TVs are gay guys, and a gay guy is a gay guy is a gay guy.  As you mentioned they try to pass themselves off as TSs.  A gay guy on hormones is nothing but a gay guy with no balls--he was born with the standard XY chromosomes that males have.  There is probably a genetic abnormality that makes them feminine, or to have a desire for men, but they are still basically males, or XY.  Shemales or TSs, on the other hand are chromosomally different, in my opinion--they have three pairs of chromosomes--XXY or XYX--they are both sexes in one body.  In my opinion, they are born with all the feminimity they will ever need.  Some show a touch of masculinity other than that between the legs, and some do not--in my opinion, the only thing that matters is that they do not take hormones.

Hey LovEm and Cuddle, thanks for the help.
