black guy in a wig!  Go figure, really?

Looks like he paid the full rate of $300 and then got upsold....Ouchie!!!!!!

Shall I recommend:
Common Sense
Google Image Search
Google Search - phone number
did I say Common Sense?

Does TOFTT mean -Take Ouchie For The Team? It's a shame this happened given some of the options there. Here's another catfish in the mile high pond:

while I was there for a couple days last week, I did the usual filter out all the fakes to figure out who my competition was and if I needed to make any marketing adjustments off of that. Usually about 1/3 to 1/2 of classified ads I find on various sites are BS, however the last three trips I've made to Denver, about 2/3 to 3/4 of ads have been easily identifiable as fake.

whats with the insane number of catfishes in Denver lately?

Denver isn't a cheap city, so these catfishers can be making much money on their scams, and not enough to justify the expense that Denver has (average per night rate for a 3 star plus Downtown or Tech Center is $350/night... second most expensive city I visit outside of NYC).

they must have picked up on something I'm missing...

Always ? any provider who has very blurry pics online.  With today's cell phone cameras, etc.....blurry pics are a huge red flag for stolen pics and a false ad.  Just my two cents!

It was a race for the door and then a race for the stairs.

First the dude closed the door behind me in a dark room.  When I hesitated he went and knocked on the bathroom door and called out a man's name.  That is when I made a break for it. The "dude in a wig" in my case called my cell phone non-stop.  So I called the hotel front desk  and told the manager that there was a man in room XYZ posting fake photos on-line in order to lure men into the hotel to rob them.

I wouldn't even give it 20$ for that bait-and-Switch.

I had to be out of my mind to fall for that.  All the signs were there but I wanted to believe the photos.  Never again...After that I bought a disposable cell phone cash.

Good for you and glad you tested the overall criminal scam!  I myself have had to put on the LATSDog running shoes and sprint for the elevator or hallway stairs.  Thank you for not thinking with your little head and taking action.  Sometimes the situation one is in can be a problem but what a nice breath of fresh air here.
