I'm counting down the days to my first TJ trip and have a last minute question. I heard the condoms provided by hotels are not the best. Not sure if that means they break or too thick or whatever. Would you recommend bringing your own and would there be any issues doing that? Thanks in advance.
If you are using an escort she should provide condoms. If you are going to the Zona your chica will still provide them but they may be the cheap (an often expired) ones that the hotel provides. Most providers in TJ will let you provide your condoms if you like.

I had a couple break as I am exploding in them inside the girl. But I always bring my own and there is not a problem with the girls liking them or not. there is no complain from the girls and actually they prefer it because it is something that is free for them.
As stated, condoms hotels, etc. sell are often cheap, old, or both. Hence I recommend bringing your own.
Most of the time chicas will be happy to use the condom you provide. Partly because they are free and partly because most chicas don't care about the brand.
There are, however, a few chicas that are sensitive/allergic to some brands of condoms (often because of the lubricant it contains). In these type of situations use the condom the chica prefers (unless it is obviously defective, etc.)
I've never had a problem taking condoms across the border. In either direction.
Sadly, there are some sick guys out there who intentionally poke holes in the condom (presumably because they want to impregnate the chica). Chicas who have fallen victim to this partice--or heard about it--may want to only use condoms they provide.
So if for any reason a chica prefers to use her condoms in most cased I suggest deferring to her preference. (Of course, you might want to see she didn't poke holes in it because she wants your baby!)
