I do not believe agencies screen for safety, I think they just 'screen' to confirm the person's identity in case there are any payment issues. When I worked at a legal brothel in Nevada the only 'screening' that was done was the checking of IDs to confirm you were 21, that was it.
This was very tragic and I have been following the story. I am hopeful that a all of the details do come forward so providers are able to take additional measures if necessary for our safety, and well, our lives.
The news the last few days tells the story. Escort agency girl, name withheld goes on a date and gets assaulted by strangulation and dies a few days later in the hospital. The guy turns himself in. The details are somewhat vague, but I suspect the guy had to identify himself to the agency so everybody knew who he was.
We all complain about screening, but this shows the system is working. Stay safe out there.
The client passed the agency's screening, but it wasn't enough to disqualify him from meeting and killing the provider.
You might be right but, at this point, I would not jump to any conclusions. It might have been her boyfriend, or ex; based on the age and pic of the perpetrator more info is needed.

I've dealt with agencies in the past and, like everything else, some do and some don't. Not to say they ALL screen for safety either. I often used agencies in the NY area as fallbacks, though I preferred independent girls. What I think is true in all cases is that agencies and Indies are primarily concerned that you're not a cop. But they also all ask for references from established providers, which are a pretty good gauge as to whether you're a safety risk.
legal brothels in rural counties in Nevada are a distinctive niche, and do not emulate the screening that other agencies use. There are hundreds of guys every year who cannot get approved at agencies because they don't have refs. The only time I have used an ID was in Las Vegas when I ordered an agency outcall to my hotel. I redacted everything on my DL except the city I live in, my first name, and my birthdate. That, combined with my solid references were all that was needed. The booker even told me that having even a redacted California driver's license was enough because it shows I was not local law enforcement, which as you say, is their overriding concern.
You may be very correct about agencies screening for police because what they are doing is technically considered "pimping". Independents no, unless we are talking about gals that have a laundry list of warrants, of course. I have clients that are police and I also have no warrants or an arrest record, so not a concern I have or any other gals that are reputable. All of the stings are going after clients now, not providers, so what a gent does for employment is of no concern of mine.
I think the emphasis now is to go after anyone connected with human trafficking especially with underage victims.
The agency she worked for was an incall/walk-in Latina Massage Parlor called Camel Spa. They don't screen at all.
.
Pretty sure based on the news report that the guy who killed her wasn't related to the massage spa. Sounds like he was probably a customer from one of her direct online ads.

Guy probably thought for 200 he was going to have the time of his life and then …. Honestly, it’s not the first time I’ve heard where guys loose their shit over this.
But it’s still sad news.
You've heard of other guys "losing their shit" to the point of committing homicide?
And is that meant to suggest a motive or a justification?
If the former, do you really think someone who isn't already bent on ultimate violence would suddenly do so over an upsell?
And if the latter . . . well, no questions I can ask there that would help.
Sigh...

I am sure her identity will be revealed after the investigation. My heart goes out to her family. The only time I ever had to fight for my life was during an agency booking. The booker did not screen for my safety & it’s an occupational hazard. I heard this agency did check his real life information, but that’s not how I screen for safety. I think there are bad people in this World 🌎 & it’s always good to be safe. When I walk any streets I keep my head on a swivel. I’m not referring to street walking just in general street smarts.
I posted a link to the LV news report & it was quickly removed. I believe he was a member here, or she was, or both. We will soon find out all the information. Maybe alcohol &, or drugs are an issue. 🤷🏽♀️ Regardless it’s sad & scary. No one deserves to die. 🙏🏽 Prayers to those that this affects personally.
to this story that is NOT pure speculation or self-aggrandizement?
Why do you think the suspect and/or the victim was a TER user?
NOT to shit where she eats. I searched the Review-Journal website and there were no articles that mention TER or The Erotic Review. Don't know why she would speculate like that other than stupidity.
Same here. All I've seen is that her name was known to the reporter as a sex worker, and that she worked for an agency. Never seen TER or other site mentioned by the tv stations or the RJ. Apparently the Coroner will release the name once next of kin have been notified.
They released her name this afternoon. It’s on the CBS Las Vegas website. Looks like she worked for a Latina Spa on Sahara and escorted on the Neurotic Donkey on her own.
.
Per the CBS Las Vegas article Happy was right. She tried to upsell the guy for more than the $2,000 he had already paid her and he snapped, punched her, and choked her for 10 minutes. He has confessed to everything per the TV station article.
.
A very sad story. A young lady is gone, and the guy is facing life in prison.
I read an article that named her. She had no alcohol or drugs in her system. It mentioned her stage names as well. She was mother of 2. No mention of TER so far. No mention of what agency that I can find.
I don't care whether this guy told the police he snapped or not.
I hope they throw the book at this POS.

responsible report with real facts and not speculation.
...the DEAD woman? I'm guessing he screened just fine...just like the dude that killed multiple gals out east before he was caught.
Bad guys will hide their past or use fake ID/social media etc and still get past most screening. They are a lot better at camouflaging the negative than a regular dude who spends his time making a living or raising a family.

http://edition.cnn.com/2024/06/09/us/rex-heuermann-gilgo-beach-murders-document/index.html
The first murder victim was discovered in 1993. There were at least six and maybe ten or more murders and Huermann has been charged in six of them. He planned everything carefully and he took extraordinary care to avoid leaving traceable evidence. He kept secret records and detailed notes thinking they would never be discovered. I haven't read everything, but I'm pretty sure there was no screening involved and several victims were indies who advertised on CL or BP. The last known murder was in 2011.
.
I would say that there is no relevant overlap in the comparison of Gilgo Beach and the LV murder.
example of why screening is so vital to their safety. My take, in both cases if screening was used it appeared to be useless as tits on a boar. Hate to be cryptic but harm still came for them. My point is that the wolf doesn't leave a trail...
What I meant was the guy did not get away with and is off the streets. It’s sad that the last resort is that you may have killed me but won’t get away with it. But that is the system that’s in place.
Is it stupidity that keeps me here? I’m glad I ignore you people who add no value here. I did post the news link 2 days ago & it was removed. I thought it was really hobby info., so it was baffling when it was removed. This is the reason I was given. ..
Not AllowedTER General BoardReason: Your post contains personal, private information of an individual which is not allowed per TER posting guidelines.
There was absolutely no private, or personal information in the LV news. 🤷🏽♀️ stupidity was not the answer.
I DM'd on that to see if you knew anything else. I think your thread was pulled because the article named the detective and had given out his email.
Now they have the guys name and picture on the latest news. Interesting fellow
Is it stupidity that keeps me here?

Of the millions of encounters (above the street level) the chances of a hooker or a monger going nuts and commiting murder on any one encounter are powerball lottery odds. You have a much greater chance of getting injured or killed in a car crash on your way to the encounter.
How come nobody ever mentions ( pick a name or TER might delete the post) the whores who have killed mongers?
It is stupidity to worry about the few isolated incidents that happen once in a blue moon. All of us are on the honor system ultimately.
Agency screening is usually to make sure you aren't law enforcement. Prostitution still illegal in USA. Some cities have relaxed enforcement of it, NYC for example won't go after the girls but they will go after the pimps/managers/bookers. In Europe, prostitution is legal in most countries which is why agencies don't screen. There is also better protection of sex workers by police and the law in Europe, so you also see less crime. Amazing how when you make things legal and regulated they become safer, ahem marijuana.
For independents, screening also serves to weed out the crazies but also in some cases for personality and expectation matching. I think it's better that way for the client too so he isn't disappointed if he expects crazy monkey sex but gets basic GFE.
I spend a lot of time mongering in Europe where they are shocked at all the screening that takes place in the USA.
In San Francisco it is " defacto" legalized as long as it is not street action. The City treats crimes against prostitutes just as serious as the same crime against a civilian girl.
No amount of screening will prevent you from running into a crazy guy whose mind has snapped.
No amount of screening will prevent me from running into a girl whose mind has snapped.
Thankfully, it so seldom happens that nobody should worry about it. That is why I mentioned we are more likely to get killed in a car wreck going to the encounter than from the encounter itself.
I read every single post in this thread....every one. It simply boils down to this painful obvious CLICHE.....as careful as all of us try to be, as much as we try to anticipate or prepare, situations arise for which we simply are not either mentally or physically prepared AT THAT MOMENT, even if we have been in that same situation a thousand times before.... It happens to all of us, only we don't always realize it. Time and unforeseen circumstance befall every person.....and sometimes, you can do everything right an do exactly what you are supposed to do, and STILL get a shitty result. There are simply NO guarantees in life except Death, Taxes and the loyalty of dog you've treated right.
A person stumbles out their door, regains their balance and goes along their way....another person stumbles the same exact way yet he/she falls and snaps a bone or hits their head and winds up in the hospital...or worse.
Some people contracted Covid and didn't know it, others were slightly ill, some were really sick and others died. 100,000 people will receive general anesthetic for surgery, 1 of them will simply die from it without ever waking up....who will it be? if it's you, take comfort in the fact you'll never know it.
This woman (the escort/victim) no doubt knew how to handle herself and was not some bambi in the urban forest....clearly the guy did not pose a threat in her eyes BEFORE the attempted "Upsell".....the report mentions the guy had already paid 2000, so I'm wondering what was the upsell exactly about? What did the guy want her to do that was not covered by the 2000 in a VEGAS outcall???? Anyone have any insight on that? I speculated (SPECULATED) the first time I saw this that maybe some sort Auto-erotic asphyxiation-gone-wrong was involved....not likely now
I cannot fathom the grief that this girl's family is facing right now, with 2 children now without a mom.....I'm literally ill inside....and yes, I saw the first time this article was posted by Queen Bia and wondered the something when it was removed the first time (I didn't realize the reasons why until now). Likewise, the perpetrator's family now must live with the shame and embarrassment of what this guy did. MANY Lives upended, and for what? So some guy could know what it feels like to (fill in the blank here folks)?
None of this excuses the guys actions at all, but Vegas is a pretty scammy place even outside of sex work. There are a lot of idiot tourists with a lot of money are coming and going. Also people are confused about the legality of sex work in LV. Buyer beware.
Based on my research and experience with LV, upselling is a common tactic with freelancers and agency girls there. They'll come to your room for $x amount of money but when they get there they say they'll need more and the fee is just to show up. Most guys won't cause trouble, so they pony up more money or get ripped off without getting laid. Not to mention, with the freelancers there is a good chance you get drugged and/or robbed as well. He probably didn't even request anything special, upsells just may have been the normal course of business.
Or have shame??? FIFTY of her friends and family showed up in court for this douche bag's court appearance. Does that sound like shame and embarrassment? And he's staying in jail until at least August 6.
She was brain dead when she passed away. BTW, the murdered lady was an organ donor and 5 people benefitted from her being one.
You have a lot to learn besides over posting LONG ass posts! We don't know the circumstances of her life or the "whys" she got into the biz, or how long she was in it. You seem WAY too titillated searching for tidbits of info.
Sheesh...
Hello Miss....
I am sorry you reacted this way....I think you misread my post, I said HIS family, not hers, must live with the shame and embarrassment.
Yes I know my posts are long, but there's a real easy solution for people who don't like to read longwinded wordy posts, no?
I don't get the "titillation" comment.....I assure you I am not.
I actually looked at your web pages and info, you seem like a very interesting, exciting woman.
