Venezuelan women surviving socialism in Columbia

Probably not a fun hobby for these gals. :(
Reminds me a little of BA after the Argentine devaluation and the good old Cafe Orleans. All types of backgrounds, lots of fun but definitely a desperation move for many. Lots if grad students and professional women out of work.

It's about three times what a doctor makes to put it into context. and ten times what a "decent" job in Colombia pays.

BTW the Venezuelan chicas are "muy caliente" they rival the Paisas for good looks. If you ever go to Aruba, Bonair or Curcao you will find almost all the hookers there are either Venezuelan or Colombian and have been for decades. And if you go to Panama today you will find the same mix, but because of Maduro the mix is becoming more and more Venezuelan.

This is hardly anything new though. Hot women are always going to make it, the ones you should feel sorry for are the 90% of the other refugees who have no pussy to sell, or who are too "gorda, fea o vieja" to make any money at it.

in the late 80's when I was a young man.  That was pre-Chavez and socialism.  Presidents were elected to a five-year term and could not serve two successive terms.  There was corruption, because the presidential salary was modest, but he was expected to set up his financial retirement while in office by feathering his own nest during his term of office.  Doing business there, you had to bribe all government officials to get anything done.

The women were some of the most beautiful I have ever seen, and were always dressed to the nines, even to go to the mall.  Caracas was a clean, beautiful city then, but from many locales you could see the "ranchitos" (corrugated steel and wood shacks) in the hills over looking the city.  I was always amused that the poor people lived in the hills and had the panoramic views of the city, while the rich people lived in the valley where your view was the building next door.   I can only imagine how much this once-beautiful city has deteriorated.

The beautiful young women there were very friendly to Americans.  Most Americans stayed at the Hilton, so that is where the hookers went for customers.  I stayed at the Tamanaco, where hot young girls would come just for a good time, and were not difficult to pick up.

Makes me think about Seasoned Professionals surviving globalism in USA.  Plenty of Engineering Managers and the like working double shifts at Walmart and McDonalds in a desperate effort to save their mortgages.

The Great Recession is not over.

Seasoned professionals, engineering managers included aren't worrying about how to pay their mortgages in Venezuela, they are worrying about starving to death and watching their children starve to death there. The inflation rate in that country according to some sources is about 500%. So even if it looks like someone makes enough money to live because of the cost of any and everything there they are starving. Then there's the violence and political dictatorship of oppression.  The currency there is barely worth the paper it's printed on. People there who used to be well off or at least middle class have been stripped of everything!

Because we live in the US there is not MASS starvation of the whole country!

the P&R board with the fuckers who care and constantly post about this shit.

Folks need insentive, freedom to succeed and fail. Climbing from the bottom of the barrel at their own will with minimum government involvement.

The problem is when the folks depend on government and their workers. It triggers a scenario of corruption, violence and depression as shown in Venezuela, protesters in the United States, and many other countries presently and throughout history.

Everyone on the GD board should feel free to voice there political opinion and wander/post on the P&R board. There are alot of liberal, semi-socialist, pro-government cupcakes there that taste yummy.

Remember to vote in the 2018 midterm elections. Lol.

These people should take a quick trip to Venezuela, Cuba or some other "workers paradise" and see what abject poverty really is.

I've been to Venezuela, in this century, not the pre Hugo days, and it's hard to believe how such a beautiful country could be turned into such a cesspool of poverty, crime and corruption in such a short period of time.

It's not the women who got out of Venezuela and are working as hookers in Colombia that I feel sorry for, it's the millions of people still stuck in Venezuela with no way to feed their families.

yes, people in the US do not appreciated the things that they have and STILL manage to complaint about their living situation. I lived and study in La Habana, and grow up in Colombia (good area fortunately)... but isn't even remotely to a comparison to the style of life in the US.

People... appreciated what you have, you can't imagine other human beings living conditions.

Embrace what you currently have!
