Universal reload cards?

Hey guys and gals. I wanted to find out if anyone has run across a universal reload card scam. I am sure it's a scam, the girls asks you to buy a reload card from a Walgreen's or someplace and send her the numbers on the back.

I have just never heard of this type of scam and I am wondering if it's a growing thing.

I have also been told that the text messages that some girls ask you to send them can be used to bill to your cell phone. Has anyone out there heard of that one and how it works.

Thanks

I know of some nationally known providers that ask for deposits to be sent this way.

It is anonymous for both parties.

I have never heard of it being a scam.

Western union or send her a deposit another way if she is a well-reviewed, well respectd provider.

Hello,

Actually the reason I thought it was a scam is because I could find no information on this girl at all and she only posts an ad every month or so. I was wondering if there was anyway other than just not showing that this could effect a person financially.

Thanks for the reply

This is the beauty of this card, as the person purchasing the reload pays cash, then simply calls or emails the transaction or activation code to the person he wishes to pay (at least with GreenDot that's how it works).

You do not give any of your personal information when purchasing or sending it to another person.  There is nothing to tie you to another person, and is paper trail free.  No one can ruin your credit or anything when engaging in this particular type of transaction.

Of course she could still scam you by not showing up...but that is the only scam possible.

Hope this helps!

These are real. I use a green dot card.. can buy them from the stores you say..

You can buy them in any increment of 50.. She has the card... you buy it for her to add more money to it.. she can call in the reload number on back and have money on her card.

Is it  a scam ? I dont know.. If you are helping out a girl and this is the way she wishes to do it.. Nothing wrong with it.. you buy a  50 dollar reload card...its  50 dollars.. and so on.. I cant see how it would be a scam.. there are no names given etc... no real info passsed..

The process isnt a scam, but the girl may very well be.
