There was nothing in the OP that violated TER rules. You're probably right about getting some traction in a pile-on, but the OP can merely request it and doesn't even have to give a reason. That's the easiest way and doesn't need to involve others.

It didn't use to be that way, before Admin took over moderating these boards it was VERY rare for an entire thread to ever be taken down. Yes, over the last five years or so a SHIT TON of threads were taken down, but before that, almost NONE. I know because I would have been the one taking them down and unless there was a physical threat or someone was revealing personal information about another member, once I approved a post it was generally here to stay. Things obviously are NOT the same way now.
I can only speak with any certainty about the way I moderated a board, but I can assure you, whining about a thread had almost ZERO effect on me. Yes, there were certain members that would constantly whine about having posts removed that "offended their tender sensibilities" but they pretty much fell on deaf ears unless they could prove the post/s broke a TER rule, which was almost never.
In defense of the current "administration" it's rare that any of my posts which admittedly "push the envelope" at times are actually "removed for cause" 90% of my posts that are removed are removed because the post I was replying to was removed above me.
Said he had the procedure a few years ago.
