The next time you think that your text message was ignored or she or he went radio dark......sad_smile

.............  think about this.

Last night I was texted by a beautiful lady that I have a 10:30am appointment with today. She was checking to see if I was still going to see her. I had made the appointment a couple of days ago.

She texted me at 5:58pm and I answered "Yes please." at 6:04pm.

Believing that I had answered, i went about the rest of my evening.

This morning at 8:19am, she texts me " I wasn't sure. I'm free now till 10am then available the rest of the day after 11:30"
Me 8:20am "I thought we were doing 10:30?"
Her " I'm so sorry, I didn't hear anything back last night, so i wasn't sure"
Me 8:32 "Is 11:30 ok?"
Me 8:59 " did you get this?"
Her 9:06 " You got it!"

the point is that my answer at 6:04pm saying "yes please" wasn't received by her till 8:02am today!!  That time is showing on my phone because I get that service. My phone showed the time I sent it and when it was received.

I have verizon and never have these kind of problems. She has T-mobile, which in my experience has these kind of problems sporadically.

The moral to the story is......... Before you believe that he or she went radio dark on you, think about the technology being faulty.

Aaargh. Sure has thrown my day into a bit of a mess.

I switched to Verizon several years ago due to the coverage, etc.....in the past 3 weeks-post hurricane-my Verizon texts have often been delayed in sending and in receiving.  Sometimes I have to send a text 5 or 6 times to see that it went thru.  Sometimes there is a 2 to 4 hour delay in receipt of a text from the time it was sent.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue ?

I am going to Verizon store this afternoon to see if there is something wrong with the phone.......but....I doubt that to be something they will acknowledge if that is the case....

This is why I don’t really do any scheduling/confirmation via text- I usually handle via email. (I know it’s not issue-proof, but more reliable to me than via text)

I have had incidents where I called a cell number for someone I know and an entirely different person answered. Also, where someone is delayed in getting my text. If she’s using google voice or anything similar, it could also aggravate the issue more in terms of getting through your network, to google voice, and then through her network to her phone.

The worst is when you thought you sent something but never pressed Send!! Or replied in your head but the thought never translated to real action. Ughhh

It's when I start getting impatient wondering why someone hasn't returned my text after waiting "forever", looking down at my phone and realizing I have done just what you said, forgot to hit send. That makes me feel like a freaking genius. lol

I booked my sessions for Thursday and Saturday, and on the second one, 15 minutes went by and I had no response from a booker that always gets back to me in less than a minute.  I'm thinking WTF, so I go to send a followup to tease her that she's slipping a little, and there is my message still where I typed it.  I hit send and she responded within 30 seconds.  I felt pretty dumb.

This is what you'd say if you ever read your posts (ask one of your "many tech guys" to tell you how to generate a meme...right after you ask someone what a "meme" is):

Hahahaha! I'm sorry CDL, you left that one hanging right over the plate.
That's hit right out of the park.
Well done Papa.

Hahahaha!
