Unfortunately copies of the same data stored in North Carolina are now in the hands of Homeland Security.

I'm a little thrown off by this but I don't think it means much. Though DHS may now have my info. If they don't bust in on me having a session I don't think there is much they can do about it.

Not trying to add to your scare ... and your point is correct.
But I think with this info they can target further investigation ...

WFT do they have officers in North Carolina for and what information was stored there. And why are they storing information at all. The idea of all of this is to keep it away from USA law or am I missing something.

I saw the story but there weren't many details about the reason for the raid. If it was a criminal investigation wouldn't the FBI have been the agency conducting it? Had me wondering what jurisdiction DHS had. Immigration? Trafficking foreigners? Anyone have any information?

So that may have been it, though I can't say for sure.  They've done things like this in the past.  About 5 years ago a major US-based agency with the initials AC had one of their girls working in Dubai.  She wired funds from there to NY in excess of $4,000, which is the trigger point under the Patriot Act.  DHS figured out what it was about and transferred the case to the NYPD which put the agency out of business and arrested its owners.
