I was thinking on the clock...but either I suppose

Not frequently but I've had platonic dates where I've gone to a gala, theater shows, dinners. Some guys literally just want an 'escort' in the sense on the word.

Best one I ever had- we went to lunch and I helped him pick out Christmas gifts for his mom/sisters/nieces. We held hands but that's about it.

...aka friendly or even affectionate, but not sexual?

It's more common than you might think. Sometimes people just want company and are from out of town

It doesn't happen that often, in my own experience, but it's not unheard of. I think it fits in pretty well with the idea that mental, emotional, and intellectual are what you guys are seeking, with sex being a secondary.

Though I'll note that 100% of these guys are also ones I've seen for more physical things too. It sort of seems to boil down to just wanting to spend company with another human being.

People see me for all sorts of reasons, and I am happy to meet them in whatever space they would like me to join the for on their journey...   Basically, yes.  There are long discussions, hikes, etc.
