needs to be drawn somewhere. It just seems morally repugnant to me, and (I'm not a guy that anyone would accuse of being a moralist)!  Banging the Bejesus out of a pregnant woman that's not an S.O. or wife, just seems wrong to me. Then again, I don't understand Brown Showers, Enemas, Ball Torture, Hot Plates, or Humiliation either.

...prostitution, and she is any number of months pregnant, should she also be charged for some sort of endangerment to her unborn child?

This arose when a girlfriend and I were discussing how many ladies we know that are pregnant and still working. She says that they should lay off a bit, if not completely stop working totally, because its a danger to the baby. I disagreed, for many reasons, one: if she practices safe sex, she should not really be worried about disease affecting the unborn child; two: many couples have sex throughout and there hasn't been much proven that it affects the growth in anyway at all; three: civvie women don't get charged for it (to the best of my knowledge), and that would be unfair to try and arrest us.

Her argument was then, that many people hurt their kids and get away with it everyday, that doesn't mean they aren't guilty of it. She says if parents get the polices attention for doing something else, and they bychance get discovered to be hurting their kids (say for instance the neighbors call police because they hear fighting noises and when they arrive the children are beaten) they get arrested, right? So why should it then be any different for a woman with an unborn child? I still said its not the same-- they cant arrest the woman in that same scenario if her children were still in her womb... she argues they should be able to-- if they can charge a man more for beating his wife up while she is pregnant, she says (and I quote) "whats the difference if he beats up her pussy?", he still could have hit the baby either way...

What do you think? am I wrong?

While I'm no doctor, I disagree that any sex is endangering her child.

From what I've been told, a pregnant woman can have sex safely up until her water breaks.  The only issue being to do so in positions that don't put pressure on her belly once she's a ways into the pregnancy.

Really, it's nothing like beating a child.  The baby won't be touched by the guy at all even if he pounds away on her pussy.

Either a fetus is or isn't a life entitled to legal protection. they're arguing that in S Dakota right now.

The good news is that sex isn't going to harm the baby, except later in life he/she may develop an inexplicable fear of one-eyed vipers spitting mayonnaisse.

My take would be, once the woman starts to show, vaginal/penile penetreation, at least in the missionary position, would be an automatic no-no.
Digital penetration probably off the board as well.  Likewise any non-organic items.  And eventualy doggie-style as well.

Still lots of leeway for the woman to provide pral sex, swedish, digital manipulation, etc...

A more important consideration, I think, is this -- I'm betting in most of the 50 states any woamn arrested and/or convicted of a prostitution offense, particularly while expecting, is going to be in legal jeopardy of having charges of unfit mortherhood, etc.. levied against her.  The crime of prostitution is multiplied by the other possible charges she might be liable for.  And, if this is not too much of a stretch, various state laws and court decisions involving assults against preganant womwn wherein the woman loses the preggnancy, the assulter is charged with assault against the woman and assault against the unborn child.  Reasoning analogicaly, this could provide the "precedent" for a provider to lose custody of the unborn child if she's convicted of a prositution count while expecting.

And don't forget -- the really bad-off streetwalkers frequently work while visibly pregnant.   I've seen many soliciting in the gamier parts of NYC.  I shudder everytime I see that.

My apologies, I know this rambled and was not stylistically elegant.  This was composed on the fly.

First, there is no ethical dilemma if she is practicing good pre-natal care and avoiding certain behaviors that would put the baby and her at risk. She should be able to have sex with anyone up and until the a time when there is any discomfort or the her medical exams show something to the contrary. Why are these women having babies? Was this part of the plan with their SO? It's an understatement to suggest that they practice safe sex in their off-time, isn't it?

In the matter of your second paragraph that goes to whole different train of thought and someone needs to practice common sense. Violence, drugs, alcohol, and stupidity are contrary to becoming a mother.

is that many find sex with pregnant women to be a real turn on (I plead guilty on all counts.)  Therefore a pregnant provider would be giving up an excellent opportunity to make some money (Which she will surely need.) while she is pregnant.

I know that there are a lot of hobbyists who are either troubled by the thought of having sex with a pregnant provider or are down right repulsed by the idea, and I fully expect that we will hear from you.

With sex it is always to each, their own.

the appreciation of a pregnant woman calls for a much more gentle form of love making, perhaps omitting intercourse altogether.

Part of the enjoyment consist of finding ways that both partners share a sense of exhilaration concerning the experience.

DD, it is my understanding that a pregnant woman can engage in sexual activities up to the ninth month provided that it is a healthy pregnancy [ ex. no spotting; no history of miscarriage etal]and that the activities are done with due caution. [ex. b&d and s&m are probably not a good idea and safe sex is a must, - even with SO in my view]. A good web for sound info is talksexwithsue.com. The legal aspects I would defer to a lawyer in whatever state the provider worked. Ethically, I think that the woman needs to consider whether or not providing puts her at undue risk. That is, greater risk than women in other occupations who continue working.[ex police officers; security guards; bank tellers; factory workers, urban school teachers, etal] I would also think that screening becomes even more important at this time. In the end, the decision rests with the woman, but legal ramifictions are a reality.

when a woman gets arrested, she is taken to jail....some LE throw the person against the wall

also, bad clients could punch the woman in the stomach

Pregnant women can have sex, it's safe just as long as she is healthy and the pregnancy is normal.  I am sure there are activities that doctors discourage and hopefully pregnant providers are mindful of these things.

I agree with another poster that it becomes more and more important to screen clients during this time as to protect herself from crazies and LE so that she can take care of her baby when the time comes.  But the intercourse is a non-issue.

To ask the government to protect the rights of an unborn child would be a mistake due to abortion issues (unless you're not pro-choice).  Pregnant women smoke and drink which is completely legal but unlike sex there are no safe guards (concoms, barriers, etc.) to keep those items for hurting the fetus and unlike sex it's proven to be bad for the mother and the baby.

...smoking and drinking-- I honestly forgot about that. There should be no ramifications if a woman is allowed to drink alcohol and purchase cigarettes. Just the same, the abortion thing as well-- thanks Kate!
