I keep getting phone calls from Sam, Julie, Jane, etc. So I finally called them back. The phone was answered "Jerry Springer Show" when I asked to speak to "Sam" I was informed sorry she is busy we are doing a show today. When I asked if they had something better to do with their time than troll the escort sites looking for girls I was hung up on. Well, well, well not very nice. So I called back asking to be put on the DNC list- I was hung up on again. Oh well. I was just curious if there was a law out there to keep them from calling. I have been called for years. I asked them to quit calling dozens of times. Maybe I am being petty, but I just don't want to hear "Hi this is so and so from the Jerry Springer show"on my phone or my voicemail anymore. I might scream sex appeal in my photos, but Jeez Louise! Enopugh is enough.
I ask to speak with the manager, and then tell them - "thank you so much for calling me to consult about this very interesting topic. My rate is $XX,XXX per hour or any portion thereof. May I please have your billing address and EIN for my billing records, and shall we use my contract or yours, I can have my lawyer send a draft to you as soon as I have your attorney's name and address...."
OH, Forgot it is Springer... he would probably go for that! sorry, only works with magazine sales calls.... lol

keep it by your phone and when they call use it !! Belive me after that happens twice they will not call you again.
Tell them that you are very interested but ask if they can hold a few minuets as you are very busy. Them put the phone down and go back to whatever it was you were doing. It's good to have a loud TV on in the background. Every few minuets pick up the phone and say "Are you still there?", then put it down again.
It works like a charm and is so satisfying that I can't tell you. Sometimes the fools will stay there for an hour or more.
It sure has cut down on the number of sales calls I get, and while they are holding, they aren't pestering anyone else.
There are other funny gambits you can use, like saying how your cat just got his paw caught in the paper shredder and that's why you are so preoccupied right now. Now rather than being pissed off at you, they feel bad for you.
...and jam up their phones for a day or two..... Just a thought.... MA
