I'm quite sympathetic to the providers who come down hard on no-shows. But what about us guys? It's tough to re-make plans when traveling. In TER there really isn't a way for us guys to account for no- shows, right?

I know we can check, performed as promised. But it's not accepted unless she shows.

Yours is a fairly common complaint. It comes up on Newbie, General and S&P. See these two recent suggestions:

Currently, all we can do is report something on the local board and try to avoid blowback from the "accused" Provider.  Sometimes, clients merely report that "an NCNS occurred. Contact me via PM for details."

I think you have a great idea that we should have a board for these providers who NCNS.

This is a common problem where it has been stated on the boards. I understand if one is out traveling, makes a date, and has a NCNS. I would be bummed as well, maybe have a plan B instead this might help if traveling. I am not sure if this would help, mentioning you are from out of town traveling if, and hope you did as such.

Though if a provider gets a bad reference from someone about you, then I can understand the NCNS. I have a couple friends who one their websites state some of the reason if you don't hear back from them. Hopefully you did not meet any of those criteria's.

date. I understand "not hearing back from a provider" but once she schedules the date she should follow through with the appointment or cancel if something comes up. We all have a RL. To NCNS is NOT acceptable!

That is one TER place where you can vent you frustration, should you need.

If you only post a NCNS warning on the RO board, (except for the leakers) there is no way the flaky hooker will even know her actions (inactions) have any consequences.

The best way, and unfortunately "only" real way to warn the community and put any pressure on her to clean up her act is to post a warning on your regional board and "name names" if you don't call her out by name you are simply whining and only the BSU's will feel sorry for you.

If she had the bad reference on you there should not have been the date set
Therefore would not have been a NCNS

NCNS seems to be trending up as are folks delisting... as a community it's important that we figure out what's going on. To me thier seems to be a trend to limit the tools available to the non provider.  It's not purposeful on the side of the forum but if you pay attention to discussions outside of here SM is a big one, you can observe a groundswell of negativity toward " hobbyists". I view NCNS as a complete lack of respect and "I don't care " because you have no tools at this point to hold me accountable. I am in favor of good checks and balances and current trends are tipping the scales IMHO

I won't see a de-listed provider. She probably has something to hide, like misleading pictures, NCNS, upselling, double-booking, no MSOG, etc. These things still happen, but mostly to the cheap bangers who settle for unreviewed BP girls.

So:

1) You won't see a de-listed provider but

2) You probably know why she's delisted and

3) These are things that mostly happen to unreviewed BP girls (who by being unreviewed have never been listed in the first place)?

The only thing that's clear here is that you don't know what you're talking about.

1. Correct.
2. I don't care why she's de-listed.
3. For all practical purposes, there is no useful distinction between a de-listed provider and an unreviewed provider. You want to take one for the team, be my guest.

Your uninformed opinion of me is worthless.

My opinion is based on what you initially said, which was, in a nutshell, "I choose to be ignorant of why something happens, yet I know why it happens, and this is because I'm taking my information from an unrelated place."

Now you've doubled down on parts two and three.  Interesting choice.

Here are things you really don't know:

1. The name of more than one voluntarily delisted providers who are still active
2. Why any of them delisted
3. Whether or not they are distinguishable from an unreviewed provider

Whereas I know:

1. Intimately, four providers who have either de-listed or were never reviewed by choice
2. Why they chose not to be listed
3. How they compare to the Backpage providers I've been with (because the only unreviewed providers I've been with are from this very group)

As Donald Rumsfeld once said, it's what you don't know that you don't know that's the most dangerous thing.  Your opinion of de-listed providers is in that zone, because you're missing out on some really good providers.

I just don't see providers without reviews anymore. I remember what this hobby was like before reviews, and it wasn't good. I had some good experiences, but I also encountered a lot bad providers. Double-booking, misleading photos, upsells for everything, no MSOG, NCNS, all kinds of rip-offs. With reviews, I have a better idea of who I am meeting and what she will do for me. Aside from NCNS, I haven't had any bad experiences with providers since I joined TER.

Call her out on your local board. If she doesn't have a TER profile you can always attach a link to her ad website. If you want to make someone stop doing something you don't like, you hit 'em where it hurts.
