Before we start. Why I didn't  post this in the ladies only bocards? Ter refused access because i don't participate enough in discussions. Though id prefer to be a silent member.. I've been thinking about paying for this site. I can't see anything on a client or references unless I have VIP access.  Occasionally, I have request through here. My location is dead on here.  Is VIP access worth the hype?

If either of the following factors are True:
-TER is popular in your area and brings considerable business
-You tour areas where TER is popular on a regular basis

And:
-You accept board handles for screening, with certain qualifications

Then possibly. I have VIP membership because I basically use Whitelists/Reviewers as references for screening. If a gentleman wants to use his board handle for screening, I will contact 3 of the ladies who have whitelisted or who he has reviewed within the last 90 days for a reference. (ALWAYS ask for a reference from the provider and have her confirm that she’s actually seen the Client). You can only see who he has reviewed if you have a paid VIP membership, which is important because a lot of people don’t whitelist clients for whatever reason.
Also, if you’re into rankings for your city, you may want to see that.

Otherwise, most of the important features you would be interested in are already incorporated into your permissions if you have a “provider” account.

... based on what I've read from or been told by providers who have full VIP:

* You can read all details of all reviews. Some providers I know find this useful as part of their screening, and/or to get an idea of what a new client likes or doesn't like during a session.

* You can do "market research" to quickly find out via profile searches what other providers who offer similar services in your area are charging.

PM another member whether it be a client/future client or another provider.

She was asking whether it was worth it for her to pay for VIP.

Thanks. That fits right into the criteria I established and what I already said, since again you can’t see a client’s reviews unless you have paid VIP.

I would recommend paying for VIP if you’re able. The reason is that it’s a great screening tool even if the person hasn’t contacted you via TER.

When someone emails me, I’ll search if they have an account here and then if they have reviews, I’ll read over them to get a sense of what the person likes or doesn’t like. I’ll also see red flags if there are any.

So while being able to PM and all that is helpful, being able to see someone’s review history and activity on the site can be very helpful with screening!

Best of luck to you and I hope TER lets you on the PO board soon!!!

Absolutely not, TER is not worth it.

They have an absolutely toxic relationship to providers, as you may have noticed. Don't buy into their system.

Wishing you love and success in your endeavors!

Love,
Sasja

I like having a VIP because I like seeing what other people write for reviews. With first meetings, it’s not really good to be asking or discussing explicit things, so being able to see if there are patterns in reviews is nice.

In addition, seeing review scores in general is also nice.

If TER is dead where you work or travel to, then I’d say it’s not really worth it, but if there’s activity there, then it’s worth the money spent.
