If a client is had a wonderful time, sends you sweet messages the next day, and generally behaves like he is enjoyed the service provided... how do you ask him for a review without seeming too mercenary? Especially with emotional, needy types? Or should I just not bother asking and wait for someone who feels more, um, transactional about the whole thing.
I think if someone tells you what a nice time they had and if you let them know you had a nice time too it would be just fine to ask.
Do it in a way that you make them feel like it would be a nice thing for them to do for you vs making it a transactional request. The best way I've been asked by a provider to write a review is if I wouldn't mind doing it and that it really helps her "stay current."

Go ahead and ask him in a professional way.
If he's a TER member, but not yet a VIP, then you can use the excuse that he would get 15 days of FREE VIP from TER for posting a review of you. Doing it that way makes it sound like it's not emotional, but business-like.
Even if he is TER VIP, then he would get additional 15 days.
Either way... it's still business.
