There is nothing wrong or right about either. My point is that I would just like a way to ID if someone can recieve a PM or not. I've shared some great b/c information with other members and I'd like this to continue.

I may be wrong, but all registered usernames have the envelope next to their handle and an alias does not.

Sometimes when researching a provider I send a PM to someone whose review I identify with for more info. It would be nice to know if this person has a membership and is able to recieve PMs, otherwise I'm wasting time & effort.

Can you color code the envelope or is there another easy way to identify active members.

Thanks,
B

At one time I thought that they didn't do so in order to help persuade the guy that has PMs waiting to get VIP so he can read them, but have since found out that if the recipient doesn't have VIP he isn't even notified that mail is waiting for him.
Now I have no idea as to the rationale, maybe it just can't be done?

I had VIP for about six months by dint of many reviews I had posted, but then it ran out.

When I got VIP back after a few months I had about forty letters in my mailbox from people who did not know that I was not VIP for the several months when they wrote.

This was a PITA for both of us and there is no reason why this should be.

That is basically what happened here as well.  Of cours, not being quite as prolific as you, my inbox wasn't quite that full.  LOL
