I never looked at it that way, takes all kinds I suppose. It was just a thought to encourage more reviews, I did not think of the adverse effect.

I know after each name the number of reviews is posted, I think it would be a good idea to somehow show who is currently posting reviews, such as a symbol or bolder number if you have posted a new review in the past 10, 15, or 20 days, whatever time seems right. That would give guys with very few reviews more incentive to post reviews when people see he is a current reviewer. Just a thought.

With all due respect, I think that would do more harm than good. It would establish creditability to a reviewer that he may not have earned or discounted a very true review because the user does not write reviews much. The amount of reviews a member has or how recently he has posted a review is not reliable indicators of the validity of a review. Here are two examples that prove my point.

1. John is a CEO of large company.  He has been a paid member for 7 years. Though he enjoys reading reviews, he has no time to add his own.  Over the years he has seen many girls.  When he went to see Tracy, he had one of his worst experiences in the hobby.  Her reviews seemed good.  Maybe she was having an off day.  After 7 years on TER and never once writing a review, he is finally so disappointed in a provider he feels it is his obligation to tell others about what happed. On the surface he is a guy with only one review, not credible.  To me, I would absolutely take his side of the story.

2. Jim believes he is a true hobbyist.  He sees many girls a month and writes each one of them a review.  He has over 100 reviews. He writes on the message boards daily.  One day he wants to meet Jill.  Jill has a very intense screening process that was a bit too intrusive for Jim.  He boasted “I am BigDick27, I have over 100 reviews on TER” She replies, I am sorry, I am Jill and I have two daughters I can’t support if I am in Jail.  I need to screen this way so I feel comfortable.  Jim is enraged at this mere provider with the audacity to deny him.  He is BigDick27, a legend in his own mind.  To show this provider his power he writes her a fake bad review to hurt her business.  On the surface he looks like a very reliable reviewer.  The truth is he is just an asshole.
Seem farfetched?  These are just two of the real problems I had from last week.  (Jim’s ass has been banned) the names have been changed.

Good news.  I am working with one of most brilliant mathematicians I know (not a huge list) to figure something out that accommodates reality and human nature into these figures.  Stay posted.

The colors only change if you look at the reviewers profile.
