This place is, by and large, an open and friendly community.  While the current setup is something of a free for all regarding topics, The last thing we need is to have the "topic police" pissing and moaning that every other thread belongs in a different forum.

IMHO

If you look at the list of boards to the left, you'll notice that everything is strictly hobby-related except for "Politics and Religion."  It seems pretty anomalous to me.  Also arbitrary, since political and religious issues don't always intersect.

How about a board for Non-hobby issues so people can talk about politics, religion, sports [I'm sick of seeing Michael Vick posts on the General Board], whatever?

I'm not topic police, so get off your fucking high horse already.  Maybe you haven't noticed but TER isn't one big forum but several mini-forums.  They already have a Politics & Religion section that is not necessarily hobby-related.  I simply made a suggestion that expands on something that's already in place.

I don't go on TER to hear people talk about Michael Vick or Paris Hilton or whatever celebrity news occupies their time.  There's more than enough of that at the local laundromat.

Nothing diminishes the real nature of censorship like those who like to imply it every time someone sees an opinion different from theirs.

Much like your (over)reaction to my post which merely expressed an opinion different than yours.
I never suggested that you were the topic police, nor anything in any way negative about you personally.  You posted a topic and I responded with my thoughts and experience.
My apologies for not PMing you in advance to make certain that my opinion was acceptable for your thread.

but I reserve the right to respond, and disagree.  When you say "to make certain that my opinion was acceptable for your thread" you are still implying censorship.  I've stated nothing about acceptability, approving your comments or limiting your opinions.  Apparently, your response to disagreement is feeble accusation.  It's a very simple principle: when you say shit, back it up.

You certainly appeared to suggest that I was "topic police".  If it wasn't referring to me why even bring it up?  Imagine if you only had one thread, and I had responded by referring to "certain child molesters".  You would be justified in thinking I was referring to you.

1. For the record, my reference to the "topic police" had to do with my experience in other forums.  Seems the more forums you create, the more people are inclined to pick at posts that (in their opinion) "should" be somewhere else.  Nothing whatsoever to do with you personally, and I freely offer my apologies if that is still being misunderstood.

2. If you consider your response to my first post to be simply "disagree"ing, perhaps you should re-read this thread in a day or two.  Or not, your choice.

As I have no interest in continuing this, I leave you he final word.

I vote for a JelloWrestling Room, and a RUMBLE room. You know which is for which! LOL STAFF?
