VIP Payment

It would be great if we could pay for VIP membership via an American Express Gift Card.  It's kinda like the prepaid and disposable cellphone for the Credit Card world.  It's much easier for some of us to buy these using cash then to hide credit card charges from the SO.  I would have a VIP membership if I pay in an anonymous way.

Walgreens and a few other stores sell GreenDot Mastercard and Visas which you can add money to periodically. Thats how I paid for mine. :)

Thanks.  I had never heard of greendot.  I'll give it a try.  The nice thing is that they sell them at radio shack along w/ the prepaid cell phones. =)  So I can refill my card and top off my phone at one store.  Nice!  Thanks again.

I bought a VISA gift card at a grocery store to pay for my date-check membership.  There was a $5 surcharge for a $50 card, but other than that, it was no big deal.

Normally those gift cards are a hassle and I won't buy them for anyone anymore, but in this case, they work well.

I wasof the impression that they would not work; I'd love to find a kind that could be bought anonymously and used.  Finding a great ATF is wonderful, but it cuts down on visits to new providers, thus I find myself going in/out of VIP status depending upon how long its been since I tired someone new.  I have tried sending a mpostal payment to TER, but its been over 2 weeks and it still is not credited...kind of frustrating.

Well, I assumed that they would work.  I haven't actually tried it yet, but like you, I'm starting to find some ATFs and my number of reviews are going to start dropping, so I am going to have to pay for my VIP pretty soon.

To TER, isn't a gift card just like any other credit card?  It worked for me and my date-check membership.

I would be interested to know if the status has changed (see thread in link)

We do not have the ability to process any Credit cards here.  CCBill is our Credit Card processor.  I know they are very particular on accepting normal VISA/MC because of the amount of Internet fraud. For some reason CCBill has elected not to support that kind of card, I guess cards without even a name would be more risky.

Rob, I am going through the same thing.  I am one who instead of posting a high number of reviews is more comfortable UTR for both personal and professional reasons.  I did my two reviews to get my initial access and was really impressed by all the site offered and want to continue as a VIP member.

Next Tuesday will be three weeks since I sent in my three month renewal with a cashier's check.  I also have not heard anything and probably have my name engraved in the customer service department desks (both at TER and at my bank where I got the cashier's check)with all my inquiries as to the status of the check and my account.

I am unable to charge the amount to a personal credit card because "curious eyes want to know".  Now I hear the prepaid cards are not accepted.

I suggest TER post a "be aware" type notice that mail from the USA to The Netherlands can take three or four weeks to be delivered.  Knowing that, we could have adjusted the time we sent the payment in.  As you said, it is very frustrating to lose the VIP status.

now been over a month and no credit for the payment.  Fortunately I've been seeing interesting talent, but would like to have the comfort of the extra 90 days in my account, particularly as we approach the holiday season when it seems the quality touring ladies take a break.

Like alot of sites TER receives you charge card payment through a third party.  It is up to the billing company to decide which cards they will accept.

As a rule, stored-value cards can't be used for recurring monthly charges.  You can try to use one of these cards for a one-time quarterly or annual purchase, but I doubt that the approval process is able to distinguish between these and a recurring monthly subscription.

awaiting credit, and was wondering how long it would take; fortunately i saw someone new the other day and have psoted a review, so I expect I'll be back in VIP for another 15 days soon, and hope the payment gets processed soon.  When i initially joined I did the one year pre-pay (by credit card - fortunately not questioned-I was a newbie at the time and combined with reviews posted, it lasted about 2 and a half years.  TER should offer a mail in 1 year option or take gift cards for a full year with no recurring - it would give them more revenue.

If you use a regular credit card to charge VIP ,  what does the line item say on the monthly card billing ?

MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY OFFERS A CC# TO BE USED ONLINE. I CAN SET IT UP WITHA DOLLAR AMOUNT, SUCH AS $100.00. THEN ADD MONEY TO IT OR CANCEL THE NUMBER. IT IS CHARGED TO MY REGULAR CC. LETS FACE IT I DO NOT WANT TO GIVE MY REGULAR CC# TO AN OVERSEAS OPERATION. I WOULD NOT BESURE I COULD CANCEL WITHOUT PROBLEMS.

I SET IT UP WITH $100.00, APPLIED ONLINE AND WAS REJECTED 4 TIMES. THEN THE CC COMPNAY SHUT MY CC DOWN BECAUSE OF THE 4 ATTEMPS MADE WHICH THEY FELT MAY BE FRAUD. CALLED CC COMPANY HAD CARD BACK UP IN MINUTES. BUT STILL NOT ABLE TO USE IT FOR VIP/TER.

SO I APPLIED TO BIGDOGGIE AND IT WENT RIGHT THROUGH NO PROBLEM.

WHY IS IT SO HARD TO CHARGE VIP STATUS FOR TER?????
