hat used to be a virtual lock (The Packers winning a playoff game at Lambeau Field) has been anything but that over the last 15 years. The Pack is a pedestrian 5-5 over their last 10 post season home games....including two losses to Eli and the Giants.
This one is really tough to call. Rodgers (even for him) is playing at an incredibly high level...but then again, so is the entire Giant defense (especially the secondary). Eli has had two brilliant post season runs...if he can muster about 21 points, the defense is good enough to steal this one. Should be the best game of wildcard weekend.
Of course I'll be at Heinz Field on Sunday...May the football Gods continue to shine on the Black and Gold
the January cold in Green Bay isn't as much of a factor anymore. Most professional NFL players can get past that. Brett Favre, when asked how he as a southern guy dealt with the cold replied "it's my job".
It's going to be really cold there Sunday. The ground is like concrete, lakes have three feet of ice over them, beers will turn to slush in 5 minutes. There is nothing like a January playoff game at Lambeau!
Actually, Rodgers and the Pack have a big advantage this year
I think it will be an excellent game. Although I think the Packers will win, I am rooting for the Giants. They should be able to handle the tundra and let's face it, the Packers don't always bring their A game.
