Travelling Back in Time

After watching Game 2 of the ALCS between the Astros and the Yankees, I thought I had inadvertently hopped into a Deloreans and travelled back in time to an era where starting pitchers never relinquished the ball, and were able to finish what they started.  Justin Verlander, starting pitcher for the Astros, was the winning pitcher in this gem of the a game after throwing a Complete Game, 124-pitch, 13 strike-out, 5 hit, 1 Base on Balls, masterpiece.  In this day and age, starting pitchers are not remotely asked to put forth such a herculean effort.  Verlander may be Major League Baseball's Last Jedi.

Even though I am a devoted Yankees fan... That was a superb performance!
