ard to believe its been 44 years since the greatest play in Steeler (maybe even in the NFL) history took place. After 39 years of football futility, the Steelers finally won their first playoff game. Oh sure, there are conspiracy theories that the play was illegal (hitting two offensive players) or that the ball may have skimmed the turf before Franco caught it or that the head ref was so afraid of the Pittsburgh crowd if he ruled it an incomplete pass. But hey, all that adds to the lore!! Nothing else matters as we celebrate today the play that launched an epic dynasty!!!

And now we look forward to this Christmas Day and an AFC North title.... May the football Gods continue to always shine brightly on the Black and Gold!!!!!

No doubt in my mind that the ball hit Fuqua first, which, in those days, would have made the play illegal (as mentioned, ball could not touch two offensive players consecutively), but the play helped launch Franco Harris into the Hall-of-Fame, and laid the groundwork of the Steelers' dynasty of the '70s, and will always live in football lore.
