Hi guys, I'm hoping one of you can help me out. Don't laugh, my American geography sucks (I'm Canadian, forgive me) I'm planning to visit San Jose. Again please don't laugh :$ And what are would you recommend I stay in?
Appreciate your help! Kim xo ADMIN: PLEASE DO NOT POST SPECIFIC HOTEL NAMES OR ADDRES
Unless there is an overpowering reason why you are staying in San Jose, I'd think seriously about driving 50 minutes (depending on traffic) south, or taking Cal Train, and spending at least day in San Francisco, probably in the Union Square area.I think you'd do some business, and if you have spare time it is a much, much better place to sight-see.
so it sounds like rooms are available and not too pricey. San Jose isn't really my area but I've seen people stay in Santa Clara. However, the Super Bowl is in Santa Clara. People also stay in Mountain View and Sunnyvale, but these are also close to Santa Clara. There are some decent hotels in San Jose by the convention center and airport. The article also mentions Santana Row which is very nice.
Like Will said, you may want to consider heading north towards San Francisco. There are a lot of hotels near the San Francisco airport, convenient for both people in San Jose and San Francisco. Look for hotels in Burlingame, Millbrae and San Mateo. If you head into San Francisco, there are many hotels in the Financial District/Union Square area, this is the heart of the city with lots to do during off hours.
Palo Alto and Redwood Shores have some nice hotels as well
It kind of depends upon what you really want. There's a mix of cheap-shabby and decent hotels near SJ Airport (SJC) - most are convenient for customers wrt parking. Downtown is classier. Santa Clara is nearby and has some more upscale accommodations near Great America / Levi's Stadium as well as cheaper and sometimes shabbier a bit distant from that. I'd tend to recommend checking out hotel reviews for the ones near SJ Airport.
Just g'gle "SJC Airport Hotels" and check reviews. And WELCOME to San Jose
