Hi everybody,
What a beautiful city!  I think I want to move here!  I fell in love with your city crossing over the San Mateo bridge yesterday evening.  I regret that my hotel is not in a better neighborhood.  I'm in South San Francisco north of the airport.  I tried to change hotels this morning but there is nothing available for my small dogs and me.
I'm off to the Golden Gate park which I just read onling is THE most beautiful park in the country.  Wow!
I don't know how much time I'll actually have to site see, but I'd like to know what some of your favorite sites to see, things to do, and places to eat?

Thank you,
Freya Fantasia

I agree - I had a post looking for recommendations for providers a few days ago.

It had a few reads and zero responses - then it was moved to the generic In Search of board, where I am confident it will get even less attention.

You have a PM from me.

.. go to the Powell St BART station and take a cable car ride to Fisherman's Wharf.  That might be fun.

Are you doing site seeing alone or with someone?

Peace...

in San Francisco. Golden Gate Park is terrific, try to see the rose garden and the Japanese Tea Garden.  As to food, there are at least 2 types of restaurants San Francisco is known for, seafood places near Fisherman's Wharf and Italian places in North Beach.  For the former I still like Tarantino's, especially if they have sand dabs, a local delicacy, but Scoma's is also excellent.  In North Beach, the North Beach Restaurant is very good, but if you want to go top scale, Fior d'Italia on Mason St. is superb (but not cheap).  Another favorite with tourists are the 'walkaway cocktails' at Fisherman's Wharf, little cups of crab, baby shrmip or a combo with some crackers & cocktail sauce that you walk around with.  Also, don't miss Chinatown, with several really excellent Chinese restaurants.   Finally, there's the Buena Vista Cafe at Maritime Park, which is known for introducing Irish Coffee to the US.  They also have quite good food, especially breakfasts, and a great location with a view.  And the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero at Market is also a great experience.
Enjoy your visit, it's one of our great cities!
