Need help finding a place

I met a girl who offered to see me for an hour during the week. She told me to get a room where we could meet at 1pm. She has other obligations and this is the only time she could see me. She doesn't do this all the time. The problem I'm running into is that most motels/hotels want you to book 2 nights to have a room at that time because checkout is usually around 11a and check in isn't till around 2. I don't want to pay for 2 nights for a room I only need for an hour. I don't think late checkout extends to 3p. I've heard about day use hotel rooms, but I can't find any in San Diego. Her place and my place aren't available.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

The secret seems to be to call the front desk directly.  The corporate websites won't do what you want. You don't have to explain why just say you need a room beginning at noon and just for the afternoon.  It could be for a business meeting or an overlay before a flight.  Sometimes doing it in person and dressing well will help.  And here is the key, tip $20 for the help.  Front desk people are not well paid and an extra 20 will be appreciated.  If you are really cool and don't get too nervous you can display a twenty in your hand when you make the request in person.  Or even over the phone, mention that you would like to tip 20 for the extra service.  And make sure you know the name of the person you talk to so you can get them the money.  If that individual isn't there at check in, give the current person helping you an extra 20.  That will insure you are not bothered or hassled.  20 bucks goes a long way IF they have room availability.  Will sometimes even get you an upgrade.  Don't sweat it.  They've seen it all.  Good luck with your afternoon delight.

* I believe it is called the Fisherman's Special.  They have porn, mirrored ceilings & some rooms have tubs.  IDK I have not used them is several years, but used to be a sure thing.

Apparently they don't do hourly rates any more.
