Sad to hear that a 3rd Beautiful Lady has left us way too early this year.  Shyla, August and now Yurizan Beltran.  Sad times.  I'm praying for her and her friends, and no more tragedies anytime soon.

Sad indeed

Wow! I wake up to very sad news again. I actually saw her in early November for the third time.

First saw her in 2012 and she gave me a lifetime experience. She was incredibly beautiful, sweet and friendly and loving. Over the years her personality changed noticeably. Still kind, but the happiness was gone. She had gained a lot of weight recently, she was almost unrecognizable. There's a scene she recently did for Kelly Madison called "cartel" that shows how she looked.

She had always talked about eventually becoming an RN. When we last met she said she was definitely going that route and planned to leave porn.

Really heart wrenching news. I pray she's in a happy place.

I liked her too.  Just learned of her death a few days ago.  I just watched "Cartel" and she was very heavy compared to when I first saw her on video.  I didn't recognize her.  RIP.

Unless you plan on being a lifer in porn, not necessarily in front of the cameras forever, this industry burns you out. I appreciate porn as much as the next guy, but it's not good long term.

LOL That is the case with every industry.

Why is everyone assuming that it was self-inflicted?  from what i heard it was an accident

Yes, it was self-inflicted because she took the meds herself.  I'm assuming you're trying to distinguish between accidentally taking an overdose of drugs and intentionally taking an overdose of drugs but either way she did it to herself so, yes, it was self-inflicted.  But an overdose is an overdose regardless of intent.

For now, according to the various reports, the actual cause of death is unknown.  At the moment it is a "suspected overdose" and that's probably what it will turn out to be but none of the reports are saying anything at all about what drug or drugs were involved.  Until an autopsy is performed and the report released, we won't know for sure.  And we may never know whether it was an accident or intentional.  We also don't know if the drugs she took were prescribed or not.

That does not take away from what I originally said.  A large number of deaths are due to interactions between drugs and a large number of those are due to interactions between prescribed drugs and recreational drugs.

Sadly, it's yet another drug related tragedy.   It is really sad that no one has taken up arms against the drugs that pervade the industry.  I've talked to a number of ladies over the years who have said that drugs are far too prevalent on the sets, and that some of the people in the industry actually try to get the stars hooked on drugs so as to control them better, and get them to do things on camera that they wouldn't otherwise do.

While I know that a lot of people enjoy "recreational" drugs, the truth is that most of the drugs are *dangerous* to long term health and well-being.  Combine them with people who are abused, or come from broken homes, or are clinically depressed, or have other emotional and mental issues and you have a recipe for disaster.

I hope others learn a lesson from this tragedy and learn to just say "no" to drugs.

Drugs pervade every industry.  Mainly because doctors prescribe too many and people in this era are unused to coping with feeling unwell.

I so hear you in this. Since what happened w/August, many PS have posted on twitter about their experiences w/their "personal demons".  Maybe this will wake up the industry exe's to watch this more carefully as we as fans/friends of PS are losing way too many of them too early.  We shouldnt forget that Loni Evans passed away early this year too at a very young age as well.  I get the feeling that some PS will also not reveal their personal demons and keep it to themselves.  I've said it on twitter, the PS community and the fans really should come together as a "family" when sad events like this occur.

Either way, there needs to be some advocacy group formed to help the stars in the industry in a positive way or supportive way.  The industry knows there's a mental health issue (3 major stars in 3 months is an epidemic).  Shyla, August, and Yuri were some of the biggest stars around.  I would think the adult industry sees this as a concern.

Yes, it is most certainly a huge problem and at epidemic proportions.  As others have commented, in this industry, and sex work as a whole, there is a high percentage of folks who are dealing with difficult issues in their personal life and sadly many people prey on them using drugs and other methods.
There are far too few advocacy and support systems for folks in the sex industry -- and, unfortunately, very few folks outside the industry are going to go on-record for supporting sex workers -- though the vast majority of them consumer the product!
The industry needs to become its own best advocate for support.  While it probably won't save those who are too far down the path of self-destruction, maybe it can stop folks from getting on that path.

I assure you the industry at large won't do anything. And that's the sad thing. If this were the NFL, there was be an uproar for what you're describing. Sure, some personalities in the industry are moved by these tragedies. But this industry is inherently predatory on the talent. For what they do, and for the audience it has, how much are the women really compensated? How many tens (if not hundreds) of millions of times had these girls' videos been viewed on the web? To most consumers of porn, they'll simply look to other girls to fantasize about (for free) now that these three are gone.

I met two of these girls personally... Yuri on three occasions. Most recently just a month ago.

Whether she or Shyla intended to take their own lives is not really relevant. It's as if they didn't care whether they lived or died, which is the same as suicidal ideology in my opinion. What did they both have in common? Early to mid 30s, their peak careers were past them, with not much else to rely on for the future.

I can't turn the blind eye to it. Since it happened I've been really been questioning whether I'm an enabler as a hobbyist. I'll leave it at that. Not taking the moral high ground, just acknowledging that I don't see it as a harmless win win anymore.
