What is the typical agency fee? If I am able to negotiate with the provider directly, what is a reasonable discount from the agency rate?
Not sure negotiating a discount is the right approach. My advice is ask her for her rate and then decide if you're comfortable with it or not.
There is no standard agency fee. As I understand it, the way it works is that the female decides how much she wants to take away from the experience (which could vary due to a number of different factors) and then the agency takes on what they want to get out of setting up the date. Again, that can vary.
Trying to reverse-engineer the agency fee so you can presumably negotiate a direct booking rate is a losing play.
You don't go to Morton's and try to figure our how much they paid for that 28 ounce, bone-in ribeye.

Direct contact isn't always cheaper, usually but not always.
Case in point, on my local board one of the agencies posted that a pornstar was visiting. Some guy took it upon himself to contact the pornstar directly to see what her rate was. Pornstar replied back with a rate that was significantly higher than the rate one would have booking through the agency. Pornstar was also requiring a deposit that was 2/3 of the rate she quoted.
I didn't have the heart to publicly tell the guy that if he went through the agency, the rate would be lower plus no deposit.
I think what has been posted is correct- I think it varies- but probably about 1/3 so if rate is 1200- agency is probably getting about 400 and pornstar is getting 800- you might find some that will book directly- however, I think most prefer to have the agency do the screening and everything and if she is going to get the same from you or from the agency she would probably prefer the person verified through the agency- year's ago I saw an A-list pornstar dancing who was also available at time through an agency- met her at the club- got a pic with her and inquired about meeting she gave me number for direct contact but told me either way it would be same rate as agency- following these boards seems like the best success for direct contact would be in you are in LA
