This is embarrassing. Trump's knowledge of the auto industry appears to be non-existent, including the fact that the 3 major German auto companies have plants in the U.S. They've been a boon to growth in the South, as well as exporting cars made in the U.S.

Seriously, who would buy Chevy, or any GM car for that matter, when you can buy a real car like a BMW, Audi, or even Mercedes. Why GM was bailed out during the recession is beyond me. There is a reason capitalism has creative destruction. We should've left GM in the rear view mirror.

...While I agree with much of what St.Croix posted if G.M. had not been bailed out many thousands of American jobs from parts suppliers would have been lost & American auto production would never recover.
