Now there is a legal settlement and the nurse gets $500,000 from the Police Department. Nice job, protecting and serving! LOL....Righties are fiscal conservatives but they kiss cops asses and never say anything about all the money wasted in payouts caused by the action of the Jack-booted thugs in blue. If the Salt Lake City PD would have spent a little more money training their dumb shit cops better, Salt Lake City and the state of Utah taxpayers wouldn't have to be shelling out $500,000 for the stupid POS cop who brutalized that poor nurse who was just doing her job properly.
The city of Los Angeles is projected to pay out $135 million in 2017 for the misconduct of the criminals in blue AKA the LAPD. What a fucking waste of taxpayer money! But it does no good because the cops don't pay the settlements and rarely get fired, so they go right out and misbehave again and again.
They bounced this idiot cop last month, so it's unlikely that he's going to be doing this again, not in SLC at least.
BTW that nurse deserved every penny of the five hundred grand she's getting. That cop was out of control, I don't even think Jack would be able to defend him with a straight face.

It’s for all claims usually made against the city from its long neglected trees falling on your house, trash trucks hitting your car and for old ladies tripping on the shitty sidewalks we have here. They had to earmark a couple million to refund fines for all the BS Street cleaning parking tickets they issued.
System worked as designed: Nurse was assisted by other personnel, body cam provided an objective record, Cop got fired, Hospital and PD paid reasonable damages.
No system can prevent all bad behavior, a well functioning one will fix the rare problem quickly and efficiently after the fact. Good for the Nurse doing her job and following the law.
