She is a journalist and political speechwriter.  She is a former speechwriter for Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and director for communications at the National Security Council.

She was married to Michael Hastings whose Rolling Stone interview with Gen. Stanley McChrystal got McChrystal fired.  But Hastings was a critic of Obama too.  He called the restrictions on the freedom of the press by the Obama administration as a "war" on journalism.  His story, "Why Democrats Love to Spy On Americans", was published on June 7, 2013.  Eleven days later, Hasting died when he crashed into a tree while driving 100 MPH on Highland Avenue in L.A.  Conspiracy theorists think his car was tampered with.

Maybe righties and lefties are coming together...except for you BSC righties who judge a book by its cover.
