But usually after...especially if it’s someone new and you’re going out. It’s nice to get acquainted and warm up for play. For me it would be hard to start the date that way and not finish it that way too. Never seems like enough time. Try renting a nice suite for playtime before and after in-room dining - sometimes works with the right person.

Meet first and have a drink or glass of wine and get initially acquainted then head out to dinner smelling of each other and have dinner and conversation while my date recovers from our appetizer. If eating dessert I often like to take it to go and have some champagne dessert and “dessert” naked in bed.

This week in New York, a wonderful woman that I haven't seen in almost 2 years, came from Philly and we went for dinner before play. We had a great time catching up and a wonderful time BCD.  
Some others I've taken to dinner after a couple of hours of play. I'm always really hungry after and so are my lady friends.  
But, these are all women that I've known for a long time and we have a certain friendship.

I would rather play first

If we eat beforehand though I try to avoid: greasy, garlicky, fried or cheesy so I can avoid gassy lol.

The evolution of human hundreds of thousands of years ago, before governments ruined the economy and created food banks for free food and disarmed it citizens, etc. there was a system of hunting performed by men.  The men would have a playtime deal with a prehistoric woman and then go out hunting to bring back food in exchange so the woman would not starve to death.  Therefore, we are genetically determined to eat after the session and prior to the session or else one will feel bogged down and sluggish.
