I ask because I’m reasonably new and I’m not getting the volume of clients that I’d like, and I’m considering posting an ad there. I really don’t have the money right now for an eros ad, or anything else expensive, and pretty much all of the sites that list trannies seem to be very low profile, low volume, and barely worth bothering with.
CL does seem like a solution, at least for a little while, but I’m concerned about LE, not to mention quality of clients, both of which are issues I hear about routinely.
So, my question is, how dangerous is it really to post on CL? Is it worth it, or should I just fork up the money for an eros ad and hope that it pans out well?
Use all the words you would use in your ad and google them. There are a lot of private sites that are under the radar so to speak. Go through about 20 pages and more if you have time. Many closet case gentlemen are searching for you. Opra had a whole show on this once.
I have advertised on CL and it is the badlands of the web so to speak. Be ready for everything and anything. Lots of time wasters and pervs who could try to hurt you. LE is all over CraigsList but also true for eros lately. I have many good so called regulars that I met through CL. It is free and no paper trail for the gentlemen.
Personal ads might work in kinky swing magazines.There are local and national ones to choose from but make sure there are ads in them. These magazines run $10 to $15 so it can add up. Just be sure to say in the ad generous gentlemen so they know there's a fee. Check out your local adult bookstore

I know good providers who use CL and remain safe. It comes down to how well you screen. LE goes after low hanging fruit. Not every lady who posts is a target for LE. Be discrete in your wording about locations. Don't post an add more than once or twice a day. Guys who are serious will scroll through the ads. You don't need to be the name at the top of the page by posting every fifteen minutes-this sort of foolishness attracts LE attention.
Of course being discrete on your end is only half the battle. CL is trolled by cheap guys who want to bargain for your services, don't want to give out personal info and will STILL try to bargain with you at the front door...
It's a frickin' jungle to say the least but it can be maneuvered if you have your wits about you.
I met one of my favs on CL in Philly almost four years ago and she is still a regular every time I am in her neck of the woods.
Expect to be haggled and deal with a whole bunch of bs, i.e. scammers, time wasters, and LE. If your rates are on a lower end, you may get some business, but be very careful. I don't know how many of those guys on CL are willing to be screened. If you are willing to deal with all this, by all means...
I don't know where you are located, but you can also join your local forums and promote yourself there.

I’m located in Seattle, btw, which seems to have a rather small population of tranny escorts... at least, one’s that advertise anywhere other than CL, so I haven’t been able to find much in the way of local anything, and I’ve never seen any website (besides maybe CL) that has 20 of us listed here... most have under 10. It’s a little disheartening.
The guys there will be more familiar with your advertising options.

That's a specialized market. Google some keywords and you should come up with something.
With good screening you should do ok.
You may attract business from CL, but is it the type of business you want? Most guys who find ladies on CL are looking for bargains. They also tend to be the half hour date guys.
Better to focus your attention on building the type of clientel you enjoy.
All the foregoing is correct but... You'll see lots of reviews of CL ladies here. One of my Favs uses CL still to fill her dance card when necessary. Just keep the ads discrete & continue to screen.
IN Call only, stings are easier to do to outcall girls.
By all means set up a web site, photos, donations... It's a huge help... read back on the boards for more info on setting up sites, I'm sure there are threads with that

Now this is just my opinion ok?? but CL is for the bottom feeders, and a dangerous place as well, different type of hobbyist for sure, and i'm not blowing smoke up anyones ass here, but i have to say that the TER gentelmen, are by far the best there is..a great class of men to deal with and a pleasure to be with. I might post on a few other sites, but TER is tried and true and where i get 90% of my business..
Stay away from CL, it's like Humaniplex(the old troothsayzer)..all bottom feeders!
