Dormant Providers?

Hello,

Question for more experienced folks.

 
How would one go about vetting a well-reviewed provider who has no recent reviews (say all are a year or more older)? Of course, she could have taken a break, gone for studies etc. etc. All legitimate reasons.

 
But how does one verify that legitimate reason versus the other side of the equation - perhaps she's flipped. Not saying that she has but how to ensure that she is still legitimate?

you could check some of the other review sites.  Unfortunately, due to TER rules I cannot mention them by name here, but trust me, they do exist.  You could ask by PM some of her last reviewers if they know if she's still active.  You could ask by PM some providers in her area the same thing.  And finally, you could ask on her local regional board if anyone knows if  she is still active.  If she is on P411, you could look there to see if she has been on that site lately, her profile will indicate the date of her last log-in.  Google her handle and see if it pops up on any other sites, same for her phone number.  If she has a personal website, try contacting her thru it and see what happens.

If their is a lady you wish to see than I would reccomend just contacting her. Typically you can tell a decent amount about a person by how they respond ( especially if you can hear their voice). Also, if your really worried you could just ask the lady why she seems to have a year or so of no reviews.

That's what WE say when we contact a Provider. But some of them have those pesky verification policies!

Thank you for the input.

Will look at the other posts and try and do some more research before contacting them (yes multiple).

One has 411 profile and one doesn't. But neither have recent reviews (older ones are over a year old). With minimal online presence it makes it difficult for someone like myself who is uber cautious.
