New to the industry and looking for a good credit card processor.

Thanks!!!

As in you want to take credit cards from clients? I have never had anyone ask to pay me with a credit card. (I have been doing this full time 1 year, part time 4 years).  I did have a client contact me once and ask if he could write me a check.  I had to explain to him that there are two things in life you should never write a check for: hookers or drugs.   :)

Haha yes ain’t that the truth! Never write a check for hookers or drugs! Hahaha! Your so funny!  Lol yes I was curious if there was a special credit card company for this kind of biz... it’s just good to have “in case.. I seen a client on p411 and he did half card and half cash, just good to have as “backup” because he had a atm “withdrawal” limit & I woulda had to cancel that client if I didn’t accept cc. I now have square but I don’t want to stick with that company. Incase some shit head that Inst on p411 or ter and try’s to do a charge back...

-clients CAN buy vanilla visa gift cards with their credit card... you can prepaid hotels, utilities (water, electricity, internet, cellphone for MONTHS in advance, book flights, etc.  This work for me cuz at this moment my bills are 6 months paid ahead.  Although, I don't accept this type of payments for EVERY CLIENT, only when I already know them, we stablish a closer relation, regular clients, etc.
-it's become a thing that guys reverse the charges when paying with CC, so unless you have a real business, and he SIGNS a sale of receipt you will have a hard time getting the money back. My business is very vanilla like.. and I did have one guy reverse the charge I fought it with the credit card processor and I got the money... the other one there was nothing I could do cuz he didn't sign and just make a online payment. (both are blacklisted now).
--Paypal & Venmo ist SW friendly.
-Google pay may work, not honestly i am not familiar with it.
-amazon online gift cards have been reversed too for what I heard... and ladies have lost money accepting amazon online forms of payment.
-I have only one client I accept checks from.. and its bc I know him for YEARS, I travel with him, travel to him... and checks comes from his trust. I have been to his houses (in different States).

** cash is king**

I want to make sure about your typo:

Paypal is NOT SW friendly.
(I assume that Venmo also isn't SW friendly.)
.
However, based on prior discussions on TER (and not on my own experience), PayPal Gift Cards are supposed to be safe and OK. I think that a client can purchase a PP GC in a brick-and-mortar store for cash. Once you have the card, you can add it to your PP account. PP doesn't know where the cash came from. You could have bought the PP GC for yourself. Once you transfer the balance to your PP account, it is safe from GC scammers.  And because there is a "trail" (it can only be cashed in a real PP account linked to a bank account), scammers who do try to steal a PP GC can be traced. You have the plastic card with the number, not them.
.
ALSO: Some providers accept specie (gold, silver, platinum)!  You can use a 1 oz gold Krugerrand (just slightly bigger than an old US Silver Dollar) in a vending machine and get arrested for using a slug or you can use it to pay off a ~$1300 debt for service. Likewise Canadian Maple Leaf gold coins

Although this thread is regarding credit cards,  I  believe the following list has good info.

I've been using Sq without issue for a few months now. I think I get away with it because, 1, sq isn't directly linked to my website. You can pay through my scheduling portal, or I simply use the reader, and 2) my scheduling portal is set up so that it's hard to tell that I'm offering anything other than traditional spa services with a bit of "pizzazz." I even had a dispute resolution issue that sq handled (worked out in my favor) without further question. Quite a wacky tale that I would love to share with fellow providers through a PM. Let me know! I think if you are discreet in how you use such programs, it's easy to fly under the radar. I haven't had any trouble with PP or AM either, though I only use those as a last resort.
