I'm considering seeing a provider for the first time and have some questions about the screening process.  I have a particular provider in mind with a number of seemingly great reviews ($500/hr range), although I have not contacted her yet.  Her website states she's "newbie friendly."  I was recently laid off and am currently unemployed, although a google search of my full name results in a number of hits mentioning my old employer/old work phone/etc.  The website of the provider I'd like to see doesn't mention any requirement that her clients register with a screening service such as RS2K or P411... although some of her reviews on this site do mention that some clients contacted her directly via one screening service or another.

I'm a professional looking for a job and am married, and accordingly, I'm hesitant to give out any personal information that I don't have to give out.  I guess I'm nervous that my info will be left in some database to be found by police at a later date, or perhaps that I could end up receiving blackmail threats & I for sure wouldn't want any of that to come back and haunt me later.

That being said, I have some questions about the screening process:

1) Is there any advantage or disadvantage in terms of privacy for a client to use a screening service?  What kind of issues am I going to run into given that I'm currently unemployed?  I could reach out to the provider and start handing over personal information... but I'm hesitant to do that unless I have a sense of what kind of info she might need beyond my name and google references to my old job.  And I guess I don't understand what kind of info a provider is really looking for to get comfortable that I'm a "real" person and not giving her a fake name, etc.

2)  I'm thinking about picking up a prepaid cell phone so to keep any provider contact off of my personal cell phone.  Will this create any screening issues?  (Note that I don't have a land line... or a work number, obviously, at this point.)

Thanks!

First of all, you say "seemingly great reviews" What is that supposed to mean? does she have great reviews or not? do you have VIP here? If not, then you should get it. the only way to read the important parts of the riviews is with VIP membership. This will also allow you the use of the PM system where you can PM other reviewers to get more infomation. The VIP membership is only 30 bucks a month and it will more than pay for itself with one visit to a provider. (due to being able to do the correct research and not getting ripped off etc.)

Read the self help manual (located at the top of the page under the life preserver) There is lots of good information there. Also read back some pages on this board, and use the search feature on the top of the page, and search for "screening" and 'verification." You will see these topics covered multiple times

As to your specific questions,

1) The advantage of using a screening service is that you will give out your screening information one time (to the screening service), rather than giving it out multiple times to many different ladies. There is probably less of a chance of the info  getting into the wrong hands with the the second method. Most ladies are very good with your information but there are some careless or unscrupulous providers out there so you never know. Also if you use P411, they are based in Canada, so it is very unlikely that your info can get into the hands of the USA LE. Another thing about P411 is they will work with you. They have ways of verifying unemployed, self employed, retirees, military personell, college students, etc.

2) Definitely get a prepaid "burn" phone. It is called a "hobby phone" in this hobby. Do a search for hobby phone also on this board. You will see numerous threads. When you are searching for topics, change the day range  to a longer time. (the default is set to 30)

Good luck

Thanks for the reply!

So how do these verification services work exactly?  I understand that you give the services certain info in order to get verified--but what of that information are the Providers able to see?  Some of these services ask for home addresses, phone numbers, places of employment, etc. -- at least some of these items I'd be extremely hesitant to let anyone see (esp. home address).  Are providers able to get this info from RS2K?  I assume they at least have to know your real name to check your ID when you arrive for an appointment?

And once you're verified by one of these services--will most providers take appointments from you without requiring disclosure of additional information?

Thanks, again!

It sounds like you've done some research about this hobby, and are on the right track.

To try and answer your questions, IMHO:

1)I personally feel there is a great advantage to registering with a Verification Site. The two you've named are very widely known and respected. My feeling is that it eliminates having to give out your personal information to each and every provider you may wish to see. Since you've been 'recently laid-off' the Verification Service should have no trouble verifying your last place of employment. Whether that is sufficient for them, I'm not sure, however.

2) Hobby Phone, definite yes. It's well worth the small cost to have a number strictly for hobby purposes. Way too much could possibly go wrong using your regular cell number.

Also, I would recommend a Hobby email address, pretty much for the same reasons as hobby cell phone.

From your handle, I'm guessing you may be in the Chicago area. I became an RS2K member a few months ago, after having been out of the Hobby for a few years. My first couple of ventures back in, had no problems! Only wish I had more disposable income to play more.

Hope this helps!

speak with the guy "at work." You can tell me you are Obama and I can google him all day, but that does not prove YOU are who you say you are. Best advice is use p411 and maybe Gina can figure out something, but I would never risk that. If you have NO refs and NO proof you are who you say you are, I would never see you. Don't worry though...plenty of ladies willing to meet for coffee to screen you.

Totally understandable, London.  And I completely respect that each provider is free to set their own rules.  But if you require to personally speak to all clients on a (publicly verifiable, I assume) work line, then is there any real value for your clients to join a service like p411?  I guess I was assuming that joining p411 and passing their screening would alleviate the need to screen again with the individual provider?  When you get an appointment request from a p411 member, what happens exactly?  What information does p411 give you about a potential client?  You seem to be saying that someone could be a p411 member, contact you, & you might still refuse to see the potential client depending on what the situation is.  I'm just unclear on how much detail you get from p411 and how much you are expected to simply "trust" the screening that p411 already completed.

Thanks for the insights, though, I really appreciate it!

Many other women will see newbies from there, so I was just suggesting it. In my case, if I can't verify your employment I won't let anyone else not verify it for me lol. Once you get your first reference, you will be ok I think. Everyone starts somewhere babe. Gina will not give any of your info to the provider..she will just either say you are good or not to be on the site. If she can't verify you, you won't be there. Many women trust and rely on that site, so I was just saying you can find women there who will see you with no refs.

Newbie friendly providers will require some other verifiable information in it's place.  In my case, I gave my home phone & other info.  The lady did not call me but I presume she ran reverse look up to verify the information matched.  Some gals don't want to bother & that is their perogitive.

First, if you're married and unemployed, you probably shouldn't be wasting your dwindling discretionary income on seeing paid escorts. It's not the prudent course of action.

Now on to your questions:

1. Your information is always at some level of risk whenever you give it out for screening purposes. It's the nature of the beast. Also, if you're afraid of getting burned, then you shouldn't play with fire. Ask yourself if it's worth risking your marriage if your wife should ever find out what you're doing.

2. It may or may not create issues. It all depends on what information is required for screening purposes.

As far as P411 goes, once you are approved, NO personal info will be shown to the ladies. It will show your user ID, preferred name to be called, city/state, e-mail & phone number(optional). It will also show when you joined, & once you start getting provider OK's, how many & by whom. It also has a section for your profile, for your likes & dislikes, etc.

RS2K they DO need you real, government name. That is the only way for the ladies to check w/them to verify you.

As far as who will see you & who won't once you sign up for one of them, it differs between providers. Some will still ask for additional references(work, phone #, etc), others who are "newbie" friendly on P411 may work with you, & others(who are newbie friendly on P411) will see you with just that info. You'll just have to start messaging ladies once you get approved & go from there. But, once you get your 1st, & then 2nd OK's, things will start to go even more smoothly.

Date Check openly states that they are unable to verify retirees or students, so I think there's a high probability you may have difficulty with screening services.  Of course, you can always ask.

As for the phone, it only matters if they are trying to call the number you list as your place of employment.

My suggestion would be : since providers openly advertise that donations are for time and companionship, you should tell her that you'd like to meet her for lunch only, and that's it.  Most providers are willing to head to dinner or events with their clients, some will even entertain entire weekends or travel with you internationally.  If you tell her you only want lunch in a public place with lots of people around, she might be more inclined to trust you.  Sit down with her in the restaurant, order food, eat, talk, and get to know each other...  Show her your ID/drivers license over the course of the meal, and just before you leave ask her if you could get a "full service date" next time.  Use those words exactly... do not say anything explicit.  That's probably your best chance to meet her screening requirement.
