So is it dangerous?

Nobody has answered the question.  Is it dangerous?  What are the symptoms and effects? How do you reduce risks?

They say this is such a common STD nowadays and you cannot protect yourself using condoms anyway.  I  have been with a lot of women and I have never contracted it.  Is it a big deal or not?

Have you been tested for it? Generally men don't get tested for HPV. There is no recommended test for HPV in men according to the CDC.

Also, watch out for Conan. He will say you are being redundant. HPV stands for Human papillomavirus, so your subject line says, "Human papillomavirus virus." :)

He wasn't going to say that.  He was going to tell the OP that if he has (or has had) genital warts, that would be a symptom.

Stick your cock in a glass of vinegar. If it gets white spots , then you know.

Men are carriers. Nothing happens to you, you carry it and spread it. Women have to get tested and have exams every year to make sure there are no cervical cells present. If there are it has to be frozen off in a procedure. But HPV has many different strains which can affect differently like genital warts or none at all.

Please read the link PS provided, and there's more info to be found from the CDC with a little looking.

Men can get genital and anal warts too, along with cancers of the penis, throat, and anus, depending on which activities they participate in.

These things are quite rare, yes, as are the complications for women. But to say "nothing happens to you" is very misleading.

To the OP, and anyone else with concerns about this and other infections, there's a shit ton of science about all this available for free from the CDC, and very likely from websites for your county or city, as well as public clinics. It's good that you're concerned and asking questions, but as PS said, go to a better source than a fuck board for this.
