I'm a relative newbie, a couple of encounters over the past six months, so I don't have a lot of references to give for providers. I am also nervous about giving out a lot of info in an initial contact with a provider. I am a professional business owner and would be glad to give information after an initial contact via email or text. I'm also a little nervous calling providers since I don't yet have a hobby phone.
I just got a rather short response from a well reviewed provider when I asked if she had any availability later in the day and if so, I would call her with any additional information she would need. Her response was basically "if you don't put your name in the initial contact and send references, I am not going to correspond with or schedule a meeting with you if I have not seen you before". I felt like I was getting a dressing down for violating an unwritten rule. I understand the need for protecting yourself if you are a provider and don't really have a problem with any of this, but is it really expected to give your full name to a provider you don't know when all you are trying to do is see if she is available at a later time? I don't want to insult anyone, but I also don't want to give out that much info to a provider I don't know and may not ever even see.
Any guidance on protocol for initial contact with a provider would be greatly appreciated.
that you are willing to provide your personal info. after you are sure she can meet you. A thread below touched on this and he felt the same way. Why make guys give you all this info. if you can't even be bothered to respond. I also suggest www.preferred411.com or www.date-check.com

more like she was brief and businesslike. Some gals do require your real name but most do not. If this makes you uncomfortable, move on. The best way to get screened when you're new and have no references is to join P411 or Date-Check, then pick one of the girls there who says she's "newbie friendly."
And for goodness sakes, please get yourself a hobby phone ASAP. You can buy one for as little as $20 in cash (don't use a credit card associated with your name or business). Refill the minutes with cash, too. Don't register it to your name in any way. Also read the Self Help Center for other important pointers.
