Another unhappy and frustrated Newbie

First of all let me say that I may be new here but certainly not new to hobbying at all. I have been a lurker here for a few months, probably have read every post on this board for at least the past two months, I do like the Mod. here and several posters on this board seem very knowledgeable.

So last week on Wed. I decide to finally take the plunge and I sign up for a free membership. Then I made a few posts on here and they were approved, that was cool. So Thursday I said ok, lets do what everyone on the Newbie Board says is so hard, lets write a couple of reviews. I have written a multitude of reviews on 2 other boards so I just gotta convert them to TER format. I asked 2 ladies that I saw in July first to make sure they were ok with it and of course they were, and yes they are both well reviewed here, one has over 150 reviews and the other has 60. Hell, I even submitted 2 problem reports as these ladies profile pages had outdated phone numbers, etc.

I wake up Friday morning and both reviews and problem reports are all approved - Life is GREAT! I click on my posts here and there is a little 2 after my name!  Friday afternoon I click on "Membership Questions" and very politely ask if I can get VIP access since I now have 2 reviews and 34 days in my membership bank, just like it says in the rules. I felt so good I went ahead and wrote another review.

I went out Friday evening, had a great session with a new provider and then went out partying. Came home late that night and the bomb dropped. I click into my account, TER has yet to respond to my VIP question. But what they did do is go back and Unapprove the 2 reviews they already approved and unapprove the 3rd one. At the top of each is the same note:

"From time to time we choose not to post reviews from users with limited history at TER. This is done with the interests of our community as a whole in mind. We thank you for your understanding."

Now you folks can blast away at me, but that note is just arrogant ignorance, that is no way to be. They could at least give a reason, sure it is their board and they can do as they damm well please, I am well aware of that. But that note should be posted in the opening rules where they make it Extremely plain and clear that writing 2 reviews is an option to get VIP access when you sign up. To just say 'from time to time we choose not to' What a frigin joke! I have done everything exactly as I was supposed to, are they really upset I didn't give them a lousy $20.00?

Thanks for nothing after all that, TER.  I imagine after they read this I will probably have my free account deleted and go back to just lurking, oh well!

TER review days are just a bonus...  it's not easy to keep VIP from just reviews, you really need to pay the fee.  Since those reviews were taken down, I don't see why they could not be resubmitted at a later time.
I'm sorry they pulled your credits but frankly, the VIP comes in a couple of days, by itself...  no need to message.  Perhaps you inadvertently came off as a troll?
Have fun on the boards, I suggest you purchase VIP.  Prove you're for real.
Welcome.

the "Review Question" link asking them to reconsider and paste a link to your post here within the message.  If that doesn't work, you can always email admin or staff with your issues.  I have found that the site is very willing to work with you.

It's not that they don't want Newbies to submit reviews, it more that they seem to be really tightening up the review approval process to weed out fake reviews by people looking for free VIP, providers and their shills, or even possibly LE looking to seem legit when seeking info.

It is my understanding that the reviews are first processed for approval by an independent contractor over in Europe and that any subsequent issues with reviews are handled by the actual TER admin.  If you can demonstrate that you are sincere and the reviews are real, they will probably be re-posted.

As for getting free VIP through contribution, it is not only doable, but relatively easy if someone really does see two or more providers per month.  Once you build up days in the bank through legit reviews and problem reports, it's pretty easy to maintain if you hobby regularly.

I think Jazz once recommended to someone to pay for a Quarterly membership and then start building time in the bank through reviews and problem reports to maintain the VIP.

Good luck

I think the others who only picked up on the 20 bucks just did not get what my frustration was about. If they had that posted in the opening rules and guidelines I would have just paid for a quarterly and waited however long they said before going to the trouble of writing a review. And I have been lurking here for awhile and read everything, then decided to take the plunge only after I thought I understood the rules.

I thought from the rules and the general theme from the posts on this board is for members to contribute, so that is what I was doing. My real gripe is their attitude and manner of handling things is very poor, one would think they would be more customer friendly.  As a Newbie it really makes you stop and ask yourself what the hell you were thinking about when you decided to put forth the effort.  I guess I should have just let it go, I am done now.

The response that you received is pre-worded.  Don't think that they singled you out.  As others have said, newbies take a bit of a hit because it's so easy to compromise their "integrity".

I've had a couple go-rounds with them over the years, but for the most part, they're pretty reasonable.  However, pissing in their yard isn't a great means of convincing them to listen.  A note to them asking what you can do to remedy things might get you more success.

I had to pay for VIP way back when.  I'm knee deep in days now, and will probably only run out when I step away.  But, remember, we all start at the beginning.

Simple answer.....Pay the $20.00!

I don't think he bitched about the money, but that his reviews being pulled caused him to lose faith in the system.  Maybe I'm wrong, but the $20 should NEVER be the problem.  In my home market, 20 times that wouldn't cover one hour with most ladies.

I followed your advice and you were correct. Yesterday someone at TER answered my original request for VIP, of course at this point my 2 reviews have been pulled down and I don't have the days credit anymore. Anyway, this person first  acknowledged that all 3 of my reviews are 'currently' unapproved. But, since the first 2 were actually approved and later disapproved, I should get VIP access and he put the 30 days back in. Yes, I felt this was way more than fair and actually surprised me, even though he did not put my reviews back up, LOL.

I sent a very polite pm back and thanked him, that was way more than fair to me. I then asked what exactly I needed to do to be able to contribute, as I really want to be a member and I feel I can contribute. Today I got another nice pm back from the same person, I think. He stated they were just leary of a Newbie with multiple new reviews, which I guess I can understand. Glad I did not have time to post reviews of all the ladies I have seen over the past 3 months, LOL!

So little phil, thanks for the great advice. Oh yes, that line about 'pissing in their yard', that was a good one, I liked that.

We were all beginners before we got so smart and full of ourselves :)

Hopefully, you can put you VIP to good use and find lots of women.  The troubled economy needs your support!

First of all, since you have seen both ladies and were friendly enough to contact them ahead of time for permission to write a review, why not ask the ladies to whitelist you. This will give you some credibility with TER.

I have heard stories of new gentlemen writing reviews just to get a  bit of free time to read reviews. You might have sent up a red flag by asking for that free time. By getting whitelisted by at least one of these well reviewed ladies you will be able to re-submit your reviews and more than likely they will be accepted.

One gentlemen posted here a few weeks ago and I mentioned in a post under him how wonderful to see a newbie already whitelisted. Not by one  but two longstanding providers on TER. He got my attention real quick and any lady he contacts will react the same way.

By the way I am a provider here and also a VIP member who supports her community. I post often and get involved on TER. I also pay by the year but never advertise on my local board. You don't hear me complain!

...Dixie's on the right track.  You could contact them for a better explanation, but in the meantime I would've been "getting busy" with more posts on your local and the national boards (avoiding aliases), and I would suggest that you hobby more (you say you're not new, so you should have an idea of what to do & what to avoid) & submit more reviews as soon as you can.  Then I would contact them again.  I know, I know, no one likes to jump through a bunch of hoops.  But sometimes it's not as painful as you think, and it's the fast track to what you want.

But I think that was a very smart 'move'. I have been reading here for awhile and I have seen many Newbies have their first review disapproved over and over, always turns out their first was on about a lady looking for her first review. So my thread was good in that maybe it will alert some other Newbies that posting reviews right away may not be approved as they are led to believe.  Sometimes in life it is not always about what is your best move, but what is good for everyone in general.

I am sorry, but the rest of your advice makes no sense at all. You suggest that I should hobby more and submit more reviews as soon as I can? How much do I hobby now? do you have any clue?  If you submitted 3 reviews and all were rejected 'just because' would you honestly be submitting more as soon as you could? That is sorta like beating your head against a brick wall, makes absolutely no sense to me, but I guess maybe it does to you, LMAO!  Take care, my friend and happy hobbying.

I suppose your original post has value for other Newbies.  Truthfully, I originally thought you had posted this thread on the "General Discussion" board, so that is my mistake for not paying better attention.  However, the rest of my advice was pretty sensible.  Bluntly, "stop complaining so much and follow along with TER's guidelines".  It is THEIR site, you know.  To get what you want, you may just have to "get on board" with their directives.  If I had 3 reviews rejected "just because", I would inquire to find out why.  If I had been given the answer that you were given, I would contribute more posts (without bashing anyone, most of all TER), and I WOULD SUBMIT more reviews, along with a reminder(s) to TER that my first reviews were initially approved.  Follow that path and you will NOT be "beating your head against a brick wall", and you will likely have all of your reviews up in relatively short order.  Which IS what you wanted (you can claim otherwise if you wish, but no one will buy it) in the first place.
