Well, without going into details, it's a lot easier than you can imagine to put pieces together.  The stuff I learned over the course of a few months was mind boggling to say the least.  Took a little imagination, a bit of creativity and a sprinkle of patience, but I put together a whole sequence of events together.  I can tell you they were none to pleased about it either.  They thought all this stuff would never be found or that it wasn't in existence.  They were wrong in a big way.   I'm only sorry that I didn't do some of this at the beginning when I had a gut instinct about things.

Even social media data that people think because they make their account private is not obtainable.  They would be shocked to learn that it really isn't.  If someone wants it, there are legal ways to acquire it without even asking the courts.

Hi, newbie here.
I had my eye on a provider a few months ago and then she stopped posting.  Well she popped up again recently but with a new phone number. Just wondering why the new number? Her reviews on here and her website still list her old number. Is there something fishy?

I really appreciate you expertise!

is to try and elude a stalker.

She might also buy trac-fones and for security sake, get a new one every few weeks to try and stay ahead of any LE snooping.

That makes sense. Would LE ever use a providers previous posts? Or, am I just being a paranoid newbie.

Truthfully, I never understood why the change in phone numbers. They use the same name, website, email, etc. They post the same ads on the same ad boards, etc. Some even have social media sites. So what does changing a number accomplish?  Not much if you ask me.

It's when they change a lot more than a number that concerns me. Sometimes they disappear for a bit then reappear. That's when I raise an eyebrow and wonder if they are legit or running a scam of some kind.

LE will use everything the can get their hands on and generally do their best to present it in the very worst light.

Of course they need to be able to  link everything together and, I suspect, have additional reasons for going after most of us -- but that could be as simple as someone just being too obvious and making it a situation of LE having to make the effort to not notice.

Because I no longer want people contacting me that way, but it's still posted on various websites which refuse to remove it.

But I've changed my number in the past just because it felt like a good idea. ;-)

I recently changed my number because I didn't feel my personal info was secure so I got a prepaid phone not tied to any of my personal info. I read lots about the different prepaid services and kept seeing where people had major glitches porting numbers so I chose to just get a new number and change it everywhere. I've kept my old number in service for over a month just in cause I missed notifying someone. As long as their profile is established I would not be alarmed by a number change.
Hugs!
