Google Voice

Do you guys think google voice is good enough when giving out a phone number, or should I look into a burner phone? I've never really used google voice and not sure if it's fool-proof or what. Thanks.

for screening, I don't accept VOIP/Google numbers. I require a real phone number (with a contract) that I can verify who owns the line. Once I screen and verify everything... I have no problem with communicating thru google voice if the person prefers that method for his discretion.

If I am verifying cell number (work) the company they work for is the holder of the account obviously. That being said... I cross check with work email, website etc.
I understand clients can't have random text numbers on their bills, and wives (like I caught my ex), check the bill, weird numbers etc... So I totally respect the safety and discretion part... I still have to make sure my safety comes first.

My two cents.

As you've noticed by now, some providers might not accept app phone numbers. But most do.

There are plenty of options - Burner Phone, Google Voice, Burner app and similar apps.

Its upto to you - How much comfortable are you giving out your real phone number?

I don't give out my real number, nor am I planning to do so. And I'm okay if I have to pass on providers that insist on those along with ones that need my real name, need pic of ID etc. (No disrespect to any providers who require these and not saying that they should not do so etc. etc.)

So unless you're bent on seeing such a provider, google voice should be good.
