Cologne question for providers

Without the obvious, "Don't smell like you just leaped into a 55 gallon drum", is there any appreciated etiquette regarding cologne? Since they can have a very strong effect both positive & negative, is the safe bet just to have deodorant? Or is a small amount OK?

I love cologne on a man, not to be worn in place of deodorant mind you!
and I wear perfume, because thats MY perference to do so, I've always been told i smell fantastic, and if the guys don't like to smell like me when they leave, i always offer my shower with towels, deodorant and mouth wash, and other things a gentleman needs to freshen up.

it gives a man a distinct quality-as long as it isnt overpowering-and it shows you have taken time with your appearance-that is ALWAYS appreciated!

Me, I hate cologne. HATE. I'm sensitive to it (makes my eyes water and nose itch) and I don't like the way most of them smell. If it's on or near your chest, it will probably end up on my hair (use your imagination here), so I end up having to smell it even after we've parted. I prefer freshly scrubbed with just deodorant any day!

Did just that with my Monday appt. She loves cologne & asked about my preference for perfume. Perfect! Thanks for the advice, Carrie.
