I have been in the hobby for a few months now and am beginning to get a hang of securing references, especially through P411, but I have noticed one snag. Once or twice a provider, despite agreeing to give me an OK--and I always ask them directly first so as not to put them on the spot with a formal request--has simply never followed up. I mean, they just haven't responded one way or another, up or down. Now mind you these were good sessions, and I am always a gentleman. I wouldn't ask them for an OK to begin with if there was a problem. AND of course they happily agreed to give me the reference. Generally I worry that if I remind them too much they might get annoyed. Then again, is there any down side in just making the request and having it sit there indefinitely? Am I just too much a neurotic for even worrying about this?
The ladies are required to respond to OK requests one way or another. If they are not willing to vouch for you, then they cannot just ignore the request. They have to decline it and state a brief reason. If a lady is not responding, you can email Gina at P411 and ask her to politely remind the ladies in question to respond to pending requests. She will only get involved though if you booked the session through P411. If you didn't, there is nothing you can do. Also, make sure you are making a formal request through the P411 system. You can't just email the lady and say "hey can you give me an OK on P411."
Are you asking them for an Okay during the session or through P411?
P411 since you made the request? She may not be checking her email either; possibility of a family situation.
Very good points.... Sometimes one can forget that this business is not immune from life more generally. An earlier situation was weird, though. We kind of bonded during the session; I was not feeling well and so couldn't really perform, we just talked and connected on our hometowns, etc. Really nice and gentle time. Then, her assistant kept saying they'd get the OK done but it wasn't happening, week after week. (Every time I'd contact, assistant would be the one to answer.) The assistant couldn't have been having a family situation at the same time as the provider! That time I did ask P411 about it and they helped, which is why I am hesitant to ask again, and potentially again, etc. I suppose some providers or assistants just flake, just like real life, and just as apparently plenty of bad clients do. I just hope it doesn't keep happening, because it's kind of annoying to "wait on" OKs indefinitely, and it harms morale when things go so well and still you have to pull teeth for a reference!
Some hookers are ass-holes like that. I've ran into a couple that will only give you an "Okay" after the second session. I wouldn't sweat it if I were you, if it comes it comes, if not keep it in mind should she contact you at a later time. Assistants are a headache in itself. I once saw a lady in the Top 10 who launched a website that required a passcode, I emailed the assistant asking if I could have access, she emailed back asking if I wanted an appointment, I emailed back that I wrote a review on the provider and she gave me an "Okay", she emailed me back glossing over what I emailed her, etc. Same assistant emailed me offering a "grandfathered" rate, I responded and she stated that Miss So and So doesn't offer "grandfathered" rate. WTF.
Once you reach a certain number of okays and they're current, it shouldn't matter that one or two ladies haven't responded. I've found that there are some who reply quickly and some not at all. Who knows why? Maybe this is a part time gig and they are busy or they just aren't good at the administrative part. Whatever the reason, don't sweat it as long as you have a couple of current ones.
