Contacted a provider that normally requires 2 references. I only have 1, along with my p411 account. This provider has quite a few reviews and they are all stellar, as in she is not rated below 8/8 on any of them with numerous 9/9s and even a few 10/10s. Shortest session she provides is 2 hrs. She is out of state and visits my area fairly frequently.
She has stated due to me only having 1 reference, she needs me to send her half of her donation ahead of time in the form of a Green Dot Money Pack to show I am serious about setting up an appointment.
I really would like to see this provider, but it would seem all too easy for her to stop responding to me, leaving me w/o a session and to never see that money again.
Thoughts?
Therein lies the rub: your basic risk/cost benefit analysis! Without more information, it would be hard to give you more guidance. Here's a thought: look a the review history of her reviewers and send a private message to a couple of the more recent and experience reviewers and ask them what they think! You could also see another well-established provider in the interim to get a second recommendation. Good luck!
It may give you some insight as to the way hobbyists think about them. I have no problem with a provider requesting a deposit, I simply choose to move on. No harm no foul so to speak
If she's traveling just to see you, I'd be more inclined to make the deposit.
Travel expenses. Gas, Food, Hotel, ect. Why should she take a chance on losing money if you back out?
Yep, she could back out and you could post a warning on her local board. Not with her name but just an advisory with a comment to contact you privately for details. Once the word spreads.. well, you get the idea. She really has more to lose than you.
Ultimately, only you can decide if its worth it.
Do NOT rely on the appearance and performance marks for this. Read the reviews and look for statements indicating flakiness or inconsistencies in her reliability.

some providers require one half of the donation no matter who you are..some want a deposit..it is sop for a lot of touring providers..it can range from a 200 dollar deposit all the way to a 1000 dollars for the high end ladies..i do it all the time..i have never had a problem..these ladies dont want to rip you off..they just want you to show up..if you just do what they say..you are virtually guaranteed of seeing them..

Read the reports of how badly these can and do turn out...and frequently.
As some have posted they do it with no issues....for every one of those "good" stories you shouldn't have a problem finding 50 "horror" stories.
FWIW I would NEVER EVER EVER pay a gal in advance. I work too hard for my money to trust with someone I know absolutely NOTHING about. And don't fool yourself thinking if you saw Janey Hooker once or twice you still know anything about her...TRUST ME YOU DON'T.

I would not do this! It sets a bad precedent! Too many things could fall thru on her end as well.
... I would pay a deposit to a provider I've never seen before. Too much shit can happen before that appointment ever happens. I would probably do it with one I had seen numerous times before with no issues ... but unless I was paying her to travel to my town specifically, I can't see a reason it would be necessary.
Someone mentioned she has more to lose then you. No, not really. There are plenty of potential clients out there who don't use TER, plenty who do but don't read the forums, and plenty who would read your story and not care.
At the end of day though, you should do whatever makes you comfortable. I will say that if she travels to your area frequently, why not catch her next time when you have more references.

with you NCNS leaving her without money, than her own safety? Brilliant. I require deposits for travel dates and anything over 4 hours, but I would still insist a guy had the proper screening requirements. His money won't keep me alive. If her rep is as good as you say, I highly doubt she would risk ripping you off and you having the ability to blast her in public via review. Choice is yours.
She then has no incentive to mesh your schedules. Except for rare events like overnights (where she is setting aside a large block of her working time) or traveling long distances to see you... NO cash advances.
Get your referances and if you still wantto meet her, schedule then. This isn't Match . Com you can change or rotate GFs as you wish.
