Hi all,

I was wondering  your thoughts on hiring a web designer or creating one myself? Do I have to have professional photos and a website to post?   Also,if I have not been reviewed yet how do i access my ter i.d to give to clients?I tried posting a greeting/ad  on my cities discussion board. I noticed that the n.y board seems to be for NYC.  I tried looking at the "other cities" category but the site tells me it's either been removed or down?

From a clients perspective, as long as your pics are a good representation of what you look like then professional quality should not be an issue.  Although you do not need professional photos to post, you do need a website and you need to follow TERs guidelines for posting (see TER FAQ for newbies).  If you do have not been reviewed then you cannot access your TER ID because you do not have one.  Your ID is set by the first client that reviews you.  Once you get all that settled then you can post ads on your respective board with the city or section of the city that you are available in.

She does not need a TER id/profile/review to post ads. She could post an ad on her local ad board right now, as long as she has a site or web ad someplace to link to.

Evelyn, if you post an ad on the regional discussion board, it will be removed. Ads need to be on the local ad boards. I believe they can be removed from there as well, if you don't include a link to something about yourself. I don't know whether the NY board is for NYC exclusively, or NY state. You'll have to feel that out. If you post to the NY ad board and include the cities in which you're located, I doubt they'd pull it down as long as you follow the rules. It's just a matter of whether you'd be reaching your target audience. I'm sure someone on he east coast will be along to help with that.

Read the posting guidelines, and read the self help center, which is pinned to the top of this newbie board. Good luck! Come back with any questions.

Oh, and Welcome!

There is some misinformation in your reply. As fearghas noted she does not need a TER profile or ID to post an ad.  She also does not need a website to post an ad. She does need to link to an internet presence, but that can be a simple ad on an ad mall.
Your other info is good.

You don't "need" a website, though it would certainly help your business to have one.
There are a lot of free websites out there. Many are created specifically for escorts, where you just fill in a template and upload your pics. There are also other "create your own" websites such as wix, which are not specifically for escorts but many escorts have used them to create their own sites. You can always use something like that to start out, and then build a custom site later when you are more established.

You don't need a website to post ads on TER. You also don't need to have a TER profile. You do need an internet presence though. If you post an ad on a TER ad board you must link it to another web presense. It can be your own website if you have one, (but the website in turn must also link back toTER), a profile on a verification site like P411, (You probably don't have that, because you need to already be established to get membership there), or an ad on an ad mall such as EROS or City Vibe. There are many other ad malls that are allowed but there are some that aren't. An ad site that also has reviews is not allowed. Also BP is not currently allowed, (but for different reasons)

As far as pictures, mrfisher will tell you to get professional photos and that the investment is well worth it. Many others will agree with him. Personally, I prefer more candid amateur photos. I always feel those are more likely to represent the woman I will see when the door opens. There are also many clients who think like me. For that reason it is best to have a mix of pro and non pro shots on your website and ads to appeal to a larger number of potential clients.

As to the NY board and ad board, it is definitely geared to NYC, but I have seen posts from other cities in NY state. You should be able to post your ad on the NY ad board and state where you actually are. The other cities board is also an option. If it wasn't opening for you it was probably a temporary glitch. It should work now. Other options may be nearby cities or areas outside of NY that are somewhat near you, that have their own boards. Not knowing where you are, I can't tell you which boards might work for you. (Philly? New Jersey? New England?)

As to your profile on TER you will get it (and an ID number) when you get your first review. The first reviewer creates your profile. Once you get it, you can ask to link  it to your username. That will give you Free Limited Provider VIP, as well as having a direct link to your reviews every time you post on a board. You will also be able to correct or update your profile once it is created by a reviewer.

Read the self help center. (TER Instruction Manual) at the top of this page. Pay special attention to the info for providers and the provider ad posting guidelines.

Welcome to TER, Good luck. Come back and ask more questions here anytime.

My best advice is follow exactly what perfectstorm had to say. He advice is priceless in my opinion. Happy Hobbying

you are allowed one ad per 7 days on your local ad board where you can post a link to your ad or website (internet presence).

However, whenever you reply to someone else's post, you can include a link to your ad. When you do this either here on the Newbie Board or on your local regional board it gives you additional exposure to potential clients. Once hobbyists get to know you, some veteran hobbyist will TOFTT and see you and then hopefully write a review.
